Traffic Management System is a key technology in the railway signaling business, providing a set of advanced features for railway traffic automation and regulation.
Most of the european railway operators are investing to create national/regional railway control centers. ALSTOM is one of the world wide leader in this market, since it has been awarded with some of the most strategical bids lately. The variety and complexity covers almost any request coming from the world of traffic control centers.

Traffic Management Systems provide to railway operators advanced automation and decision support functions to plan, regulate, automate and optimize the train traffic circulation on complex network.
These systems are based on special software application, normally running on IT infrastructure/datacenter specially designed for business continuity and mission critical application.

 

The purpose of the job is to specify and design software architecture of Traffic Management System (TMS) product software (or part of its) and support the Product Architect in finding the best implementation strategies for TMS Software Product. Moreover, the job will consist of coordinating and monitoring a team of developers (internal and/or external), writing/updating technical documentation, attending as Product reference in meeting within Customer, partecipating to international workshops and joint design meetings.

 

Main responsibilities 

  • Specify/design and develop software on HMI application and finding the best implementation strategies
  • Design and develop components/parts on HMI application of ICONIS Mainline
  • Specifing system/product specification & architecture, in collaboration with Product and Software Architects
  • Perform Software and Software Integration activities

 

Educational Requirements
Educated to University Degree level in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering.
+ 5 years of work experience in a similar position within complex and structured organizations. 

 

Essential:
• Passion for SW Development
• Experience in complex software developments based on Windows Systems

• Experience in Graphical User Interface software development (Desktop or Web)

• Strong knowledge and expirence in software architecture design patterns

• Strong knowledge of software programming language (WPF, C#)

• Knowledge of software programming language (HTL/Javascript, MS-SQL)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, knowledge of IT architectures (client/server, IP networking, SQL databases)
• Fluent in English.

 

Desirable:

• Knowledge of agile methodology and process

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps
• Knowledge of design patterns, IBM Synergy, CENELEC tandards, IT architectures and Railway systems;
• Basic knowledge of French and/or Deutch Behavioural Skills and Values
• Demonstrate Honesty and Integrity
• Strong availability to integrate and curiosity to “look into” somebody else work
• Attention for details, problem solving attitude, passion for quality
• Act as a Team player
• Eager to Learn continuously
• Very good relational and communication skills.
