We're looking for an RAILWAY SIGNALLING ENGINEER in our Site of Bologna.

 

Purpose of the Job

The Service Signaling Engineer will contribute to the Signaling Service Engineering activities, in particular in the two areas of development of digital initiatives and services (Control Room) and ISR (Integrated Service Readiness) activities, i.e. all those activities that are preparatory to guarantee the correct maintenance of a signaling system.

Mission

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

In its mission in relation to the development of Digital Services, the person will deal with.

  • To contribute pro-actively to the development of the Control Room, guaranteeing its correct functioning and identifying possible areas for improvement

  • Define the Software developments of the Control Room by means of “agile” specifications
  • Improve the internal technical assistance process through the proposal of new digital services (improvement of call recording, management of documentation and reporting)
  • Define possible proposals to offer to the customer in terms of digital services related to signaling maintenance activities
  • Contribute to the maintenance and configuration of the Control Room and digital services
  • Contribute to the preparation of the documentation necessary for the use and maintenance of the Control Room and digital services
  • In general, contribute to the definition of the Control Room and Digital Services roadmap together with the Service Signaling Engineering Manager

 

In its mission in relation to ISR activities, the person will deal with:

  • Review and define areas for improvement in the maintenance manuals provided by D&IS
  • Define maintenance plans based on the maintenance manuals provided by D&IS
  • Contribute to the construction of the LCC related to the maintenance of signaling systems
  • Contribute to the definition of the management plans for Obsolescence
  • To propose, jointly with the Service management, possible roadmaps for updating the signaling systems in terms of Baseline
  • Define the training plans both for the internal staff of the Signaling Service and for the customer's staff
  • Contribute to the definition of the RAM data collection process

 

Additional activities that can be carried out are:

  • Continuous improvement through the adoption of digital processes and services of the aforementioned activities
  • Participation in tenders by analyzing the technical requirements and drafting the related technical documentation
  • Participation in D&IS DFQ cycles for the definition of the Maintainability requirements of the signaling systems
  • Proposals for improvement of tools and diagnostic tools developed by D&IS
  • Contribute to the management of obsolescence in charge of the Service structure 

 

 

Requirements

Bachelor degree in Engineering (Electronic – IT – Telecommunications), MSC in Engineering will be considered a plus

  • Knowledge of SAP, RAM, digital services and web applications
  • Knowledge of databases
  • Good knowledge of Windows operating systems and the office package

The knowledge of the following topics will be considered a plus:

  • Cloud computing
  • Data mining, big data and machine learning
  • Cybersecurity
  • Obsolescence management 
  • Knowledge of Railway industry
  • Knowledge of Signalling System
  • Experience in the maintenance of complex system

 

Fluent in English

Previous Experience (2+ years) in development of Hardware and/or Software Electronic Systems and Solutions or in Engineering activities will be considered a plus.
