Your Role:
As a Safety Assurance Manager you will manage, perform and ensure the activities related to safety assurance in the Projects.
In particular, manage, perform and ensure the safety acticities related to the ETCS trackside and IXL projects within the RC Mainline Wayside team.
Location: This position is open both in Bologna, in Rome and in Bari
Your Challenges:
- Coordinate all the Safety Assurance activities on the Projects of his/her perimeter as per Safety process defined in Signaling Safety Instruction
- Perform Safety analysis, manage Hazard Log, review Design, RAM, Cyber, V&V, T&C activities from a Safety perspective
- Define safety plan and manage safety workload and associated planning
- Build the Safety Reports and the Safety Cases
- Apply the safety assurance methodologies (risk acceptance criteria, safety analysis, verification and validation) defined for the Project
- Attend to periodic Safety Reviews and Gate Reviews
- Defend Safety Case argumentations in front of internal (QS, Safety Assessor) and external (ISA) assessors; define and follow-up action plans to close the findings of the assessors
- Coordinate Safety Assurance Engineers and external suppliers involved in the involved on ETCS or IXL projects
- Support the review of eventual safety issues, their root cause identification, mitigation measures, and return of experience to prevent similar issues
Qualifications:
- Engineering degree (preferably Electronic Enginnering) or similar
- Italian and English operational in speaking/reading/writing for technical documentation
- Knowledge concerning the Cenelec Standards for Safety (or equivalent standards if needed: AREMA, IEEE, etc) and safety methodology & concepts/principles
- Experience in RAMS / Functional Safety Assurance is an asset
- Knowledge about the full engineering cycle (from specification to validation tasks) and related interactions
- Experience in evaluating and monitoring the workload and the schedule of safety activies on projects
- Behavioural Competencies; Structured and organized; Proactive behaviour; Sense of anticipation and urgency
- Ability to execute and coordinate analyses, design reviews and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards & procedures in accordance with project
- Be a detail-oriented individual, thoughtful and deliberate in your approach to conducting research and analyses
- Possess a strong work ethic and be task focused. Must be willing to “do what it takes” to get the job done within the allotted timeframe while maintaining the highest levels of quality in the projects produced
- Resilient (to pressure, to last minutes deliveries, to manage urgently safety issues)
