Traffic Management System is a key technology in the railway signaling business, providing a set of advanced features for railway traffic automation and regulation.

Most of the european railway operators are investing to create national/regional railway control centers. ALSTOM is one of the world wide leader in this market, since it has been awarded with some of the most strategical bids lately. The variety and complexity covers almost any request coming from the world of traffic control centers.

Purpose of the Job

Specify and design software architecture, support in SW delivery and support Product Manager in finding the ICONIS TMS software strategies.

 

Educational Requirements

Educated to University Degree level in Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science

 

Technical Knowledge / Experience

Traffic Management Systems provide to railway operators advanced automation and decision support functions  to plan, regulate, automate and optimize the train traffic circulation on complex network. 

These systems are based on special software application, normally running on IT infrastructure/datacenter specially designed for business continuity and mission critical application.

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in complex software developments based on Windows Systems;
  • Deep knowledge of software programming languages and technologies (C++, C#, WCF, WPF, MS-SQL);
  • Experiences of working with .NET Framework and in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and Hyper-V environments;
  • Knowledge of IT architectures (client/server, workstation/Blade, IP networking, routing and SQL databases.);
  • Experiences in leading software team in complex system environment;
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM is preferable);
  • Railway and Scada Application is not mandatory but preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the elaboration of product/system specification & architecture, in collaboration with the Product Manager and the other Product Architects;
  • Perform Software Design and Integration activities;
  • Define the software requirements specifications;
  • Define the software architecture;
  • Define main technical choices for SW development, having a strategy vision.
