Mission

The Product Architect is responsible for specifying the product and defining its architecture in terms of hardware and software components to meet stakeholder needs. The role ensures that product definition, performance, and architecture are consistent, robust, and aligned with operational, safety, and cybersecurity requirements across the product lifecycle.
 

Main Responsibilities

  • Capture and analyze stakeholder needs, including operational contexts, use cases, and scenarios
  • Specify the product by defining functions, operational modes, performance targets, and constraints (including RAMS and cybersecurity requirements)
  • Define the product architecture (logical and physical), including HW/SW allocation, deployment strategy, and configuration aspects
  • Design and refine product components, ensuring alignment with the defined architecture
  • Ensure technical consistency and coherence across all stakeholders and engineering disciplines
  • Verify technical choices and work products through reviews, system analysis, and simulations
  • Analyze and resolve technical issues identified during verification, validation, or customer feedback
  • Provide technical support to engineering teams, project teams, testing, commissioning, and service activities
  • Contribute to product documentation such as datasheets, user manuals, and training materials
  • Support configuration management and ensure proper control of design work products
  • Contribute to requirement management, including capturing, developing, allocating, and tracing requirements down to HW/SW components
  • Participate in program activities, including development strategy, planning, risk management, and progress follow-up
  • Support externalized development activities and suppliers when applicable
  • Contribute to standardization and reuse of technical solutions across products
  • Apply processes, standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., return of experience, process enhancements)

 

Competencies & Skills

  • Strong understanding of system and product engineering principles and lifecycle
  • Ability to define and manage product architecture, including HW/SW integration
  • Technical decision-making capability and ability to ensure design consistency
  • Knowledge of RAMS, safety, and cybersecurity requirements in product design
  • Experience in requirement management, including traceability and allocation
  • Ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in system analysis, design reviews, and technical validation approaches
  • Familiarity with product development processes and configuration management practices
  • Good communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to contribute to innovation and reuse of technical solutions
  • Fluency in English for technical communication
