Traffic Management System is a key technology in the railway signaling business, providing a set of advanced features for railway traffic automation and regulation.

Most of the european railway operators are investing to create national/regional railway control centers. ALSTOM is one of the world wide leader in this market, since it has been awarded with some of the most strategical bids lately. The variety and complexity covers almost any request coming from the world of traffic control centers


Purpose of the Job

The IT Design Architect is in charge of IT platform Design and Deployment for TMS contracts to customers and to internal stakeholders



  • IT management for customers and internal stakeholders
  • IT and cybersecurty management on a day-by-day basis in activities/suport for users in a continuos delivery/agile approach
  • Design of Datacenter IT platforms for TMS contracts
  • IT Architecture Requirements analysis and discussions with customers
  • To contribute to the monitoring of the technologies available on the market and to the definition of a possible evolution of the TMS platform (IT architectures)
  • To maintain the internal know-how on these technologies
  • To define and validate the detailed instructions, technical manuals and best practices, guidelines for configuration, installation, system management
  • To provide 3rd line support for Customer Service

Educational Requirements
University Degree in Electronics or Information Technology is preferred
Technical Knowledge / Experience

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Information and Communication Technology and in detail about:
  • Advanced Data Center design and management (servers, networking, storage)
  • Advanced hypervisor knowledge VMWare, Hyper-V or KVM
  • Advanced networking knowledge based on Cisco
  • Advanced Systems administration in Windows and/or Linux
  • Hybrid Cloud management (onPremise + Azure or Google)
  • IT Cybersecuirty principles
  • Agile methodoligies and Continuous Integration principles
  • scripting competency
  • Advanced experience in troubleshooting
  • Technical documentation management
  • English language at least B1 level. B2 level preferred.

The following will be considered a plus

  • Azure Knowledge
  • DevOps principles
  • Cisco and/or Microsoft/Linux certifications
  • ITIL Certification
