The ERTMS System Designer will join the ERTMS Generic Application team that is part of the System Design team and will be responsible for the Design of Rules and Logics that will be used by the Projects.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Analyzing customer requirements and developing detailed ETCS sub-system specifications;
• Define the signalling rules for equipping Signalling Layouts;
• Define the rules to configure the Alstom RBC for ETCS L2 based Generic Applications;
• Define the RBC logic in order to fulfill the ETCS sub-system specifications;
• Define the Signalling Princiles and Engineering Rules for ETCS L1 based Generic Applications;
• Performing system simulations and modelling to verify design performance;
• Identifying and resolving technical issues related to ETCS signalling systems;
• Participating in system integration and testing activities.

To be successful in this role:

• Relevant engineering degree;
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite;
• Good knowledge AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus
• Knowledge of signalling systems design is a plus
• Previous work experience is not mandatory

Location: Bologna, Rome, Bari or Florence site
