THE PURPOSE OF THE SECTION LEADER ROLE IS TO:
Without a hierarchical role, you will be the relay of the EPU Manager and animates as a referent of the Autonomous team the achievement of the SQCDP objectives, encourages the continuous improvement of the autonomous team and the cohesion of the team. Guarantor of the daily holding of the Autonomous Team short term interval animation, “5” minutes meeting and communicates regularly with its EPU daily to inform/ escalate urgent matters.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:
EHS
- Ensure the application of the start up checklist by the team
- Put in place precautionary measures for issues identified during start up (mainly during staggered hours)
- Animate the traceability of EHS related deviations on the board, ensure timeous updates and escalate all the time (i.e EHS cross, PDCA, PPE)
- SAFETY : Alert when there is a risky situation and mitigate the immediate risk.
- Participate in the update of the PGI
- Respect, comply and apply all EHS rules.

- Check the operation and information of AOS (100% connection/balance of work orders)
- PERFORMANCE : Propose solutions when the SQCD performance is below target

- Deal with 1st level of quality concerns raised by team members
- Interface with support functions to resolve 1st level quality issues based on analysis that was done
- Guarantor of the follow-up of the treatment of discrepancies and timeous resolution there off
- Engages a pre-rotation check when the job is done
- Informs about the parts/sub-sections of parts available for IQ inspection and alerts if not in the criteria to make the rotation
- Follow the completion of rework/snags and close them before the rotation to the next workstation
- Ensures that the line blocking points (“aleas”) or defects encountered are identified in MES/AOS
- Ensure escalation and reporting of quality issues to Work Centre Manager if it cannot be dealt with by the Team Lead
- Alert when the standard ways of working or not respected (Work instructions, special processes rules, quality rules, lifting plans)
- Comply with all internal customers’ requirements.

Continuous improvement :
- Ensure that job rotation is implemented in autonomous team
- Ensure that handover of task from one person/day to the other is seamless and without impact
- 5S : Proposes 5S continuous improvement actions/Kaizen

First line People supervision:
- Ensure first line supervision of team member on the floor during daily activities and ensure that any concerns, issues, stoppages are addressed or escalated to be resolved asap.
- Report any employee maters to the Work Centre manager
- TEAM : Take the lead on actions and does the link with support function to manage improvement
- COMMUNICATION : Animate the team’s meeting

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:
- Qualified Artisan as Welder, Boilermaker, Spray Painter (Red Seal)
- Multi-skilled and competent on 50% of the assemblies of their EPU
- MENTORING : Is at “U” level on 50% of the assemblies of their EPU
- Minimum of 5 years hand on working experience in an industrial environment as a tradesman
- Knowledge of Alstom processes
- Knowledge of welding/boilermaking/painting imperfections
- Sound understanding of safety related operations within the plant
- Sound English read, written, speak
