Your future role 
 
Ernst-Reuter-Platz 6, in the heart of Berlin, is home to Alstom's DACH regional headquarters. Up to 500 colleagues of more than 40 nationalities work here, focusing on project management, business development, and regional strategy, with a special emphasis on rail digitalisation. Our product line Digital & Integrated Systems (D&IS) answers worldwide mobility challenges for passengers and freight transportation through digitalisation. Our D&IS colleagues in Berlin are focussing on upgrading the LZB/PZB systems to the European Train Control System (ETCS).

 

As our Validation & Verification Engineer Signaling for ETCS/ATO signaling projects, your mission will be to organize and lead the verification, integration and test activities of the retrofit of a vehicle with ETCS/ATO technical design, based on, and adapted from the generic Alstom solution, which will fit the customer project needs in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery.

 

You will be in charge to define and execute all the project V&V activities related to in-house validation (Verification, Integration, Testing), site validation (Electro Magnetic Compliance, functional, odometrical, antenna transmission) and managing the activities performed by Test & Commissioning team on the First of Class Vehicle. In this role you will report to our D&IS Metier Leader for Certification & Authorization and Validation & Verification, and work alongside a dedicated and enthusiastic team.


 
We'll look for you to:


•    Contribute to Help define and implement the Project Verification & Validation (V&V) strategy 
•    Develop verification methods and test plans for deliverables and in-house activities 
•    Perform, report, and follow up on verification, integration, and test activities
•    Collaborate with Safety Assurance Manager on safety-related results 
•    Align V&V methodologies with experts from other departments 
•    Represent Alstom to customers/partners, sharing test progress and risks
•    Manage configuration, change cycles, and provide feedback for continuous improvement

•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Electronics, Telecom, Automation, Electricity, Robotics or in another similar technical specialty is mandatory.
•    Proven experience in a similar role, with a focus on testing in embedded development projects 
•    Demonstrated expertise in safety-critical systems development, adhering to standards such as CENELEC (EN50126, EN50128, EN50129) or equivalent.
•    Proficiency in hardware, software, and environmental testing.
•    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Rigorous, reliable, and detail-oriented approach.
•    Full professional proficiency in both English and German is mandatory.
•    Willingness to travel as required
