The Services Engineering Competency, Learning & Academy Manager is responsible for defining and deploying the global competency and learning strategy, while leading the Services Engineering Academy and contributing to the WCE (World Class Excellence / Engineering Excellence) program.

The role ensures alignment between:

  • Business priorities and Services Engineering performance
  • Competency frameworks and role/job architecture
  • Learning programs, Academy offerings, and WCE capability requirements

The objective is to build a high-performing, standardized, and future-ready Services Engineering organization, aligned with transformation and operational excellence initiatives.

 Key Responsibilities

Competency Management

  • Define and maintain competency frameworks (technical, transversal, leadership)
  • Ensure alignment with job library and role definitions
  • Lead competency assessments and gap analysis
  • Identify capability gaps impacting services delivery

Services Engineering Academy

  • Define and lead the Services Engineering Academy strategy and governance
  • Structure Academy portfolio:
    • role-based curriculum
    • certification programs
    • onboarding & induction journeys
  • Ensure strong alignment between Academy content and competency frameworks
  • Build and animate a global trainer and SME network
  • Drive adoption, engagement, and visibility of the Academy

Learning Strategy & Deployment

  • Define the Services Engineering learning roadmap
  • Translate competency gaps into actionable learning programs
  • Build structured learning paths by role and seniority
  • Deploy global blended learning solutions

Contribution to WCE Program

  • Support the deployment of the WCE program within Services Engineering
  • Translate WCE standards into capability development requirements
  • Ensure alignment between competency frameworks, learning programs, and WCE priorities
  • Support the integration of WCE practices into Academy and training solutions
  • Contribute to capability maturity tracking and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with WCE / Excellence teams to ensure consistency across initiatives

Stakeholder & Ecosystem Management

  • Collaborate with:
    • Services Engineering leadership
    • HR Business Partners
    • Talent & Learning teams
    • WCE / Excellence teams
    • SMEs and site representatives
  • Animate global expert and learning communities

Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Support Services Engineering transformation initiatives
  • Introduce innovative learning approaches
  • Foster a continuous learning culture aligned with WCE principles

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Master’s degree (Engineering, HR, Business or equivalent)

Experience

  • Strong experience in:
    • Learning & Development
    • Competency Management
    • Academy or capability building
  • Experience in engineering or services organizations
  • Exposure to operational excellence / WCE-type frameworks
  • Experience in global matrix environments
