Could you be the full-time DACH Head of Finance Project Management (f/m/d) in Berlin we’re looking for?

 

Your Future Role

 

Ernst-Reuter-Platz 6, in the heart of Berlin, is home to Alstom's DACH regional headquarters. Up to 500 colleagues of more than 40 nationalities work here, focusing on project management, business development, and regional strategy, with a special emphasis on rail digitalisation. Our general management ensures that Alstom continues to grow and become more successful. You will report directly to the DACH Finance Business Performance Director and will lead a Project Governance Manager while maintaining close communication with internal and external auditors.

 

We’ll look for you to :

 

Project Review Process:

  • Participate in the preparation, review, and validation of highly critical and medium projects until the issuance of the Summary of Decisions.

  • Support and participate in DACH's biannual portfolio reviews.

  • Assist countries/sites that lack maturity in Project Finance Management, particularly at project start (TTM/CPR 0).

  • Aid in the launch of complex projects.

Project Reporting and Analysis:

  • Monitor Estimate at Completion, Project Performance Indicators, and Risks & Opportunities developments.

  • Consolidate and verify monthly reporting and portfolio reporting (NAVO/ambitions/opportunities, etc.).

  • Control the backlog and reconcile project reviews with Teranga and OdyC.

  • Articulate project messages at the executive level, especially for the Region Business Review (R&O disclosure, anticipation and reporting of degradations/improvements, and support in setting targets).

  • Participate in special focus initiatives for certain projects, including site/project visits.

  • In the event of financial issues on a project, identify root causes and propose action plans.

Tools:

  • Support adherence to project tools and processes (PM2020, OdyC) in coordination with the PMO.

  • Animate and develop the FPM community (participate in project staffing, FPM training, etc.).

  • Share best practices within the region and across regions.

  • Master’s degree from a business school, engineering school, or equivalent university

  • Solid experience in project finance management, including experience as a Senior Project Finance Manager on large and complex projects

  • Expertise in project accounting, contracts, and risk management/reporting

  • Integrity, resilience, and strong coordination, communication, and leadership skills

  • Ability to articulate key project messages at the executive level

  • Proficiency in English

  • German will be a plus
