Overall Purpose of the role:

Contribute to the realisation of Sub-System commitments through the allocation of adequate team profile and methods within his / her domain/discipline.

Accountable to deliver TMS System approved by the Customer and consistent with the System Delivery Plan across multiple projects taking in to account the project/program lifecycle.

Ensure continuous improvement through the Discipline Management network.



This Job description applies to various TMS Application Engineering Groups activities.

  • Accountable to reach QCD commitments for his/her HMI/Software Development/Engineering Domain/Metier
  • Ensure that all Domain / Metier activities follow Quality processes
  • Manages human resources allocated to the domain following the standard ALSTOM people management processes.
  • Define and implement orientations for his / her department, in liaise with his / her manager (team profile, discipline evolutions in terms of technology / M&T (Methods and Tools), department competitiveness, …)
  • Manage adequacy between estimated workload and capacity, trying to balance it and reporting staffing issues to the department head, and allocates adequate team profile to TMS projects.
  • Coach resources from his / her team when they request support
  • Continuously develop their technical and methodological skills by coaching, mentoring and identifying/allocating the team on training program based on the needs
  • Ensure that Experts in his department are mobilized on key topics for the Business
  • Survey and develop technologies, promote expertise within his / her department in liaising with World Class Engineering.
  • Implement & contribute to the definition of his / her TIS discipline processes (common methods and best practices) and provides REX (Return on Experience) on methods & tools.
  • Support / Contribute to define Capex needs based on the roadmap at the department level
  • Continuously motivate, encourage, evaluate, train and develop resources, in cooperation with the department Group Manager / HR, as per approved performance targets
  • Communicate to his / her team company news and report to his / her manager information about his / her department activities.
    • Promote Alstom values to his / her team



  • Bachelors or master’s in Electrical / Electronics / Computer /Communications / Instrumentation Engineering

Technical Competency & Experience:

  • 12 + years of demonstrated experience in Software / Functional / System development configuration, integration and testing of which 5+ years of core experience in Product / System development / Requirement management / Integration /validation
  • Knowledgeable on Software / Functional / System Development
  • Should have sound knowledge of Windows (2K, XP, Win7, Win10), MS office tools
  • Strong knowledge of windows HMI/software development, Requirement handling, documentation, delivery life cycle and debugging fundamentals is required.
  • Ability to apply internal process required for TMS UI/HMI development cycles and delivery
  • Strong knowledge of WPF, C#, MVVM, design patterns with exposure to SQL, LINQ is mandatory 
  • Working knowledge to work with a cross-functional team like safety, quality, installation, T&C ..etc.
  • Exposure to project package delivery process and customer FAT/SAT procedure/process  is desirable
