Your future role

 

Take on a new challenge and apply your maintenance expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Shift Production Manager and work alongside dedicated and enthusiastic teammates.

 

You'll carry out routine maintenance, repairs and fault-finding work on rail vehicles across 22X platform and other applicable fleets.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business supporting the wider production teams with ongoing maintenance and repairs, rebuilds, modifications, upgrades, when applicable and much more.

 

We’ll look to you for:

 

  • Work as directed by and in co-operation with the Team Leaders and Production Management Team in order to:
  • Adhere to and work within Quality Systems to the current applicable standards.
  • Work as part of a team, complete or assist in any of the team's activities to ensure work is completed on time and to specification.
  • Understand and follow work/Vehicle Maintenance Instructions (VMI), Standard Operating Sheets (SOS), Work Element Sheets (WES) and Task Sequencing (TS).
  • Support secondary level fault finding as and when required.
  • Use work related IT Systems as required including Maximo to record progress of operations and status of issues. Application of supporting systems to access work instructions, learning modules, briefs and risk assessments (not exhaustive)
  • Accurately report status of operations, complete Work Checklists and Work Orders with the required level of detail including completion time, detailed comments
  • Reporting any quality, continuous improvements, or EHS related issues though leadership routes.
  • Make  suggestions and recommendations for productivity improvements working with the team leaders/managers and supporting functions (Industrial, Engineering, Materials, Projects)
  • Maintain 5S good housekeeping of all related work areas in accordance with set standards.
  • Be capable of accepting certified training in other skills and carry out other duties, e.g. forklift, vehicle driving
  • Be capable of being re-trained in other activities/skills as required by the Production Management Team in order to support the Operations as required.
  • Understand and abide to safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices compliant with local standards.
  • Comply with all EHS protection and Alstom Zero Deviation Plan (AZDP) measures.

  • Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/City & Guilds) or recognized equivalent
  • Remove/Replace Components (RETC 056a/b - EDS Approved)
  • System Testing (RETC 203 - EDS Approved)
  • Experience of working to procedures, work instructions and vehicle maintenance instructions
  • Experience of mentoring and instructing other team members
  • Technical skills/proven knowledge in 22X train maintenance, repairs, fault finding, exams, heavy maintenance
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn
  • A strong team player
