Could you be the full-time Logistics Engineering Manager in Barcelona we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your logistics expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside young and proactive teammates.
You'll implement, manage standard packaging solutions (purchase, design, prototype, validation, …) and monitor the budget follow-up. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (warehouse, material planning), apply solutions to protect parts during all logistic operations (transport, unloading, storage, line feeding, …) and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of designing internal logistic processes and ensure that the parameters in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) are correct (stock strategy, Activity Based Costing ABC classification, …), but also contributing with Regional Logistic Engineering to identify potential improvements in the whole value chain and capture the added value.
We’ll look to you for:
- Design packaging solutions (define flow, calculate batch size, optimize packaging costs, calculate ROI and logistic loop, realize business case returnable vs lost packaging, …).
- Manage packaging at all levels from business award to maintenance including purchase order and budget monitoring.
- Define warehouse layouts, its internal/external flows and storage policy (define C-class storage management, create & implement mirror area, put in place visual management, Kanban flow, First In First Out, First Expired First Out, lean management, …).
- Participate to ABC classification and contribute to C-Class* activity according to the standard rules in place.
- Participate with Project Supply Chain Leader (PrSCL) to the different Procurement Gates Review by negotiating terms of Project Supply Chain Specification
- Reduce logistic costs and make business case (optimize packaging & transport costs, analyze milk-run, calculate ROI realize business case returnable vs lost packaging, …).
- Optimize the line feeding (design standard kitting trolley, warehouse & production line footprint and sequencing, …).
- Work closely with industrialization or Process & Manufacturing Engineering (PME), material planning, warehouse, sourcing, manufacturing teams.
- Apply Environment Health & Safety requirements for logistic: packaging solutions / warehouse process optimization / waste reduction & management.
- Manage logistics engineers and technicians: provide a long-term vision to the team, set yearly objectives and targets, support and coach in achieving these targets and objectives, perform performance appraisals, reward and recognize merits, set and follow up team members development plans and induction program for newcomers.
- Manage logistics engineers & aligned team members activities to the workload. To warn the Regional Logistics Engineering if the workload is temporary too high.
- Ensure site logistics engineers and technicians follow ALSTOM logistic processes.

- Graduated from Engineering school or equivalent
- English (written and spoken)
- Experience in an industrial environment
- At least 2 years of experience in similar positions in Supply Chain
- Knowledgeable of ERP SAP (WM and IM modules)
- Team management

- Strategic and methodical vision
- Problem solving skills
