PURPOSE OF THE JOB

 

You will be in charge to ensure the compliance of products and parts delivered by the ALSTOM facilities. He/ She performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on products ready for delivery and on products during their manufacturing process according to Control Plan per Project and internal procedures (highlighting Special Processes).  You will record associated NCRs, results, and KPIs. 

Quality Engineer expert in Dimensional Measurements of big pieces by high technologies equipment (as Laser Tracker, Scanner, 3D Arm), with powerful capacities to innovate and improve method of dimensional measurements.

You must be lead the continuous improvement and the prevention of Quality defects in order to obtain more efficiency and goes to the excellence.

 

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

 

  • To ensure the Quality of produced products you will encourage, promote and facilitate the properly criteria to Production and also performs inspections of subassemblies or finished ALSTOM products according to well defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements. Contributes into site improvement actions and programs related to the IQ scope.
  •  Functionally manages the team of verifiers of the Workshop.
  • Reporting of KPIs, defects, quality incidents… of properly Workshop.
  • Accepts or Reject products as defined in the working instructions.
  • Accurately document NCR and results of the inspections and testing, so as to launch the expected reaction on supplier side and Alstom teams (QRQC,  Quality wall,…).
  • Lead the properly activities to develop continuous improvement and prevention actions to increase the level of quality performance in the Workshop (QRQC, RR, Pareto...).
  • Deployment of the self-control audit plan with efficiency.
  • Maintain all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Control the correct calibration of critical equipment and instrumentation used in the inspections.
  • Ensure all characteristics in Control Plan are deployed in the manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
  • Evaluate problems and make initial recommendations for possible corrective action.
  • Develop new programs of measurements for the new parts.
  • Innovate in advanced dimensional methods for dimensional measurements.
  • Manage the Calibration system for all control equipments of Alstom site.
  • Verification system of the control tooling.
  • Works with industrial teams to alert on risks of missing parts due to defects.
  • Records inspection results in the industrial tools as required.
  • Reports to the Industrial Quality Managers the synthesis of inspection results, including KPIs. Stop the production in case of a defect which justifies mandatory rework.
  • Escalade the anomalies detected on the production lines & ensure their effective treatment (QRQC tool).
  • Support manufacturing teams regarding the self-inspection.
  • Ensure quality animation methodology, in line with APSYS requirements.

Mandatory

 

Industrial Technical Engineering degree

 

Experience

 

Mandatory

 

  • 3-5 years experience in equivalent activities.
  • Experience in managing Quality tools and problem-solving tools.
  • Experience in operational activities and in documentation management.
  • Experience and knowledge of dimensional measurements.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Technical background enabling the understanding of critical characteristics of the products of welding process or equivalent (electromechanical, electrical, material, mechanical)
  • Knowledge of railway industry.
  • Experience in Quality / Audit.

 

Competencies & skills

 

  • Knowledge in Quality standard (ISO 9001, IRIS, CMMI,.)
  • Awareness on processes and products delivered in the project.
  • Fluent English.
