Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your software development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside talented and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a key role in developing innovative software solutions that power modern transportation systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as system architects, project managers, and testing teams), design and implement software solutions, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

You’ll specifically take care of system requirement analysis and software development, but also ensure rigorous testing and verification of the software.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Developing system requirement analysis, defining functional decomposition, and architecture definition

  • Designing and implementing ATS software using C/C++, Python, and Java programming

  • Creating software documentation, including impact analysis, software ICDs, and design specifications

  • Conducting design reviews and code reviews

  • Developing module test cases for self-testing before delivering software to the verification team

  • Contributing to project and change management by understanding project execution cycles, raising change requests, and adhering to budgets

  • Supporting other assignments, such as site investigations and site testing support

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Control System and Instrumentation Engineering

  • 3-5 years of experience in software development

  • Experience or understanding of railway software development or secure software development

  • Knowledge of software design using C/C++, Python, Java, or C#

  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

  • Team management and the ability to work transversally with engineering teams

  • Proficiency in creating technical documentation

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our agile and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards senior roles in software development or system architecture

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)
