Job Title : Services Engineer

Purpose of the Job

The Services Engineer will provide technical leadership in the maintenance engineering development of the RST/TRS/SIG-OB/DWE platforms during the duration of the contract. This includes development of the platform capability, field support and the way in which we manage all technical aspects of the platform. The Services Engineer act as the technical expert for the platforms, ensuring all engineering aspects of through life asset management are in place and controlled. The Services Engineer is involved from the Testing and Commissioning phase of the project and are responsible to lead routine tests.

Key Responsibilities


  • Leading the Safety culture required to ensure Zero LTA’s

  • Understand the technical issues for each fleet and sub-systems within the platforms under Alstom scope and manage their resolution, in accordance with agreed timescales and budget. Ensure the timely and effective resolution of safety issues.

  • Review component failure data to identify trends, take ownership of specific components failure modes and proposing mitigating actions / solutions. Participate and lead if required FRACAS.

  • Provide Field Maintenance Engineering and direction for the engineering activities in support of the delivery of cost effective maintenance plans and reliability growth.

  • Review, develop and maintain all the technical/engineering documentation required for the services scope. Ensure traceability and records are available in Maximo.

  • Participate into the maintenance strategy development and Overhauls planning and documentation including the revision and optimisation of the maintenance plan.

  • Provide the creative inputs to develop innovative and effective maintenance solutions to support the maintenance execution team.

  • Ensure that best practices are delivered for the maintenance contract ensuring engineering leadership is provided across platforms and the centralised project support adds value.

  • Lead/Support the investigations of major defects.

  • Testing & Commissioning of Rolling Stock routine tests, trouble shooting and rectification

  • Lead the Rolling Stock routine tests during the T&C period for the Monorail Innovia 300


Relevant experience required:


  • Technical Knowledge of the Rolling Stock including and/or On board Signalling, Innovia fleet, CITYFLO 650 or similar platform would be of advantage.

  • 5 to 10 years Experience in Rolling Stock maintenance and/or testing and commissioning

  • Technical knowledge in track switches, monorail track Switches and DWE maintenance and /or Testing and Commissioning would be an advantage

  • Good knowledge of electrical or mechanical. Such as read circuit diagram, schematic, etc

  • Programmimg skills required (Phyton, C++, VBA, etc)
