Job Title

Senior Services Technician

The purpose of the job

The role is multi-skilled requiring a high degree of competency in mechanical and electrical skills. The role involves diverse mechanical and electrical work on Rolling Stock and other sub-systems under the maintenance contract such as maintenance work, modifications activities, troubleshooting, body work repairs, welding repairs, fabrication, electrical installation tasks, etc. The role has responsibilities for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) inspections as assigned and the maintenance of documentation and MMS records for the vehicles at the work site. The position will be based on a shift system to support a 24hours, 7 days a week management.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the Safety culture required to ensure Zero LTA’s
  • Responsible for services activities on sub systems including maintenance, modifications, troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, and repairs, etc
  • Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities following the technical instructions, maintenance manuals and technical documentation provided by the manufacturer
  • Implement field Maintenance and Modifications. according to the Maintenance  and Modification instruction (including tests, if required)
  • Ensure use of valid/calibrated tools
  • Populate relevant Maintenance and Modification follow-up data base and report relevant PI Customer Site Manager
  • Ensure information flow within the field Maintenance and Modification team (e.g. shift handover)
  • Perform quality self-inspection
  • Respect EHS rules and any work-related processes. Ensure risk assessment & safe-system -of-work is available.
  • Report any deviation or non-conformity associated with the field modification
  • Ensure all necessary parts, tools & documents are available prior to starting the field modification
  • Act as mentor to the services technicians team providing advice and technical support on troubleshooting, defect handling and repair
  • Performs troubleshooting and lead team for ensure that train go back to revenue service.
  • Performs the works that be assigned from Supervisor  in charge to meet the objectives established by the management.

 

Experience

  • > 5 years of technical operational skilled experience (mechanical or electrical / electronic)
  • > 5 years of Field Experience
  • Strong Teamwork capacity
  • EHS knowledge and exposure
  • Multi-platform Product knowledge
  • Self-government
  • Operator team management (of applicable)
  • Technical troubleshooting/investigation experience (mechanical or electrical / electronic)
  • People Management Skills, good team player

 

Educational Requirements

Certified Technician or Undergraduate in technical area (mechanical or electrical/electronic) or related technical field.
