Purpose of the job
Delvelop and implement Train-to-wayside Communication System design including perform radio surveys, conduct off-site test, and support site installation and test.
Key responsibilities and challenges
- Deliver TWC designs, which consists of TWC, MICA, and IPT, based on design rules and best practices inherited from previous projects
- Elaborate TWC BoQ as a support to PrIDM
- Prepare and execute radio surveys
- Interface with other subsystems/3rd partiesfor design and implementation
- Provide iteration of TWC software and configuration until end of project
- Conduct off-site test for project specific radio functional and performance verification
- Remote and onsite support TWC installation, test and commissioning
- Ensure on-time delivery in line with project DFQ with minimized leadtime, cost and risks
- Ensure the TWC designs follow quality process and ADDA
- Prepare and participate in design reviews
- Lead to close radio technical issues including troubleshooting, analysis, technical clarification, etc.
- Collect and record TWC REX
- Prepare and conduct TWC O&M training for customer
- Maintain constant contact with team members and N&T subsystem leader
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
- Degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Computer, or similar engineering subject
- Knowledge and experience in datacommunication system and wireless communication
- Knowledge on using radio tools - spectrum analyzer, radio signal simulator, etc.
- Strong communication in English - listening, speaking, reading, writing
- Knowledge on signalling and system architecture is a plus
- Agile, inclusive, and responsible
- Skills required: basic programming, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, driving to result, prioritization, process-oriented, and team player
Experiences required
- Design, test and commissioning of wireless communication systems with involvement in design lifecycle
- Radio and railway industrial standards
- Radio measurement and surveys
- Microsoft Offices
- Writing technical papers or reports
- Design with Moxa and Cisco is a plus
- Signaling is a plus
- Requirement management/Change management is a plus
- Electrical wiring design is a plus
