As a Junior Telecom Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing software to keep the train communications stable and resilient which support the train moving safely, comfortably, and efficiently while stopping at stations on time. The incumbent will have knowledge and understand software development lifecycle, software quality methods, coding standards, agile methods, modern tools, continuous integration, and safety standards.


Key responsibilities: 

  • Under the supervision of the Software Architect, Implement software functionalities according to approved design.
  • Participate to peers’ reviews to ensure software quality and good software practices.
  • Create developer test cases and execute them.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, 


Relevant experience required:

  • 1 to 2 years software development and implementation experience on one of the following environment:
    • Embedded systems (C on Linux OS). 
    • Desktop application (C++/C#/.Net)
    • Backend Software development (pearl, python)
  • Experience working in the Transportation industry (specifically Rail).
  • Experience in agile software development (e.g. Scrum);
  • Experience using OOP, XML, VBScript/VBA, Sockets
  • Understanding of UDP and TCP/IP sockets.
  • Experience implementing SNMP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC.
  • Experience programming GDI/GDI+ graphical applications.
  • Familiarity with multi-threading concepts.
  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management tools.
  • Experienced on C/C#
  • Experienced on Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
  • Experienced using .NET profiling tools
  • Experienced using SQL Database
  • Experienced using Python
  • Adheres to coding standard and best practices.
  • Fluent in English
