IXL Software Design Engineer

Purpose of the Job

The role will support as an important interface between the customer projects and the research and development roadmap. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of software engineering, signalling engineering principles and a good level of software quality, verification tools, and a good level of understanding of the verification and validation process all through the development cycle.

Key responsibilities: 

Sub System Requirement Management :

• Analysis system requirement, define functional decomposition and architecture definition
• Analysis and design according to requirement specification
• Define design description and mapping to the requirement

Software Design:

• Perform Impact analysis and define change in software
• Create and/or update design  documents.
• Implement software by using Alstom tools.
• Perform software selftest.
• Analysis error from the software.
• Perform design review.

Project and Change Management:

• Understand project execution cycle and their own contribution and commitment
• Responsible and ensure design execute following the plan within budget
• Raise change request when scope changes to Work Package Leader, Team Leader or Manager where applicable
• Manage and control document following company process

Support other assignment:

• Site investigation, Design supports to other subsystems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement (Lesson Learn)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineer, Computer Engineer, Software Engineering, Control System and Instrument.

Relevant experience required:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in software products in Python, C or C++ language, PLC, Ladder.
• Strong expertise in python, C, C++ or PLC/Ladder
• Basic Railway Signaling (Control Table, Signaling layout, etc)
• Understand electrical circuit is a plus (not mandatory)
• Strong English Communication is a must
