Purpose of the job
  1. Perform the E&B (including stray current) activity for system & infrastructures
  2. Manage, direct and coordinate all design activities for power supply and distribution of all internal/ external suppliers and regulatory authorities. 
  3. Responsible for providing all necessary data to interface/integration team for the power supply system.
  4. Ensure review of design in timely manner and review of testing procedures to be handed-over to T&C manager.
  5. Provide technical support to QA/QC team for inspection during installation

 

Key responsibilities

  1. Detect in early stage of the project the potential E&B and stray current issues and work with the Consortium Partners Engineers and/or with third parties to kill the potential risks
  2. Support the Technical Project Manager with the E&B and stray current expertise.
  3. Identify the E&B and stray current interfaces.
  4. Measurements on site (Earth resistivity, earth electrode, track to earth insulation)
  5. Choice of mitigation measures (E&B, corrosion by stray current, lightning, return circuit
  6. Carry over the E&B and stray current experience from previous projects
  7. Apply the E&B and stray current relevant standards
  8. Identify technical/Project risks in E&B field and assess associated financial provisions and/or propose design mitigations
  9. Estimate costs for E&B activities in Project phase
  10. Support designers in implementing E&B rules
  11. Support Quality team in verifying the proper implementation of E&B rules
  12. Direct, manage and report for power supply design activates, including the power supplier supplier coordination, design follow-up and sign-off.
  13. Review/Prepare all necessary design for PS&D systems. Implement "workaround“ Plans to mitigate adverse effects of delays on the contract schedule.
  14. Prepare/ present reviews, weekly and monthly reports to management. Collect all signalling data for compliance matrix process and RAMS.16
  15. Provide integrated reporting on progress, delay from sub-systems level to integration level.
  16. Support the integration team to Interface with partners to ensure interface requirements are understood and met for Power Supply and Power Rail system scope of work.
  17. Interact between with partners and subcontractors and home office staff.  Ensure each party is fed designs to review and that comments are incorporated.
  18. Support the system integration team to Interface with parties (subsystems design leads) to ensure fully completion of relevant ICD (Interface Control Document) between Traction Power System scope and other sub-systems and partners.
  19. Responsible to provide testing procedure for relevant systems to T&C manager.

 

Education
•  University degree in electrical engineering (Master or PhD), specialised in electrical Engineering and Electrotechnics.

 

Relevant experience required

  • Knowledge and several years of experience in E&B, electrical distribution (HV, LV and Traction), Stray Current (including cathodic protection), lightning, Specification and Testing.
  • Strong experience in Railway project and strong design/engineering capability in Power Supply and Distribution systems of railway systems, DC and AC.
  • Specialized or cross-functional knowledge / relevant experience required by the position/role 
  • Traction Power engineering and project delivery in the same business;
  • Ability to work in a team environment and interface;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills;
  • Capable of looking on global picture (integrated tests); and
  • Well aware of sequence of tests to be able to build a working programme.
