Purpose of the job:

The purpose of an interface engineer job is to design, implement, test and maintain interfaces between different software systems while ensuring they function effectively and meet business requirements. An Project Engineering Manager  plays a crucial role in integrating various systems and applications within an organization, enabling seamless communication and exchange of data. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Propose the Engineering SoW to the Project Manager for coordinate all the technical activities within the project Engineering team and for the participating Operations Products lines (first level), produce them with his team for Systems Engineering
  • In project/bid phase, build the optimised solution (technical, performances, cost) 
  • Manage technical relationship with the Consortium and the client
  • Choose the hypotheses for performance calculations and validate the results
  • Validate the system Specifications and the interfaces specifications produced by his team
  • Control the System configuration and requirement manager
  • Manage Design Changes related to the transport system definition throughout the project/bid cycle
  • Follow the Preliminary and Final Designs progress
  • In relationship with the Project Test & Commissioning Manager, prepare the VTA activities
  • Lead, develop and motivate the Engineering Project / Tender team
  • Implement the Engineering tools
  • Support the Project/Bid Manager

     

  • Technical knowledge: They should have a strong understanding of technical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and identify potential areas of conflict or miscommunication between systems.

  • Analytical thinking: They should have the ability to analyze complex relationships between systems and identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.

  • Communication skills: They should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively explain technical concepts to a range of stakeholders.

  • Teamwork: The manager should be able to collaborate with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders from different departments to achieve project goals.

  • Problem-solving skills: They should have experience in identifying and resolving issues that arise during the development and implementation of interfaces.

 

Education

  • Bachelor of telecommunication engineering, computer engineering or related field

 

Relevant experience required:

  • Broad Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in Railway system engineering in an international project
  • Expert in COM System Engineering including Onbaord Communication system 
  • Cyber Security knowledge is essential 
  • Bid/Tender experience in railway enviroment
  • Experience working as a Telecom/Network/Wireless Networks and able to assist the entire effort for a subsystem on a full Rail Systems Project
  • Extensive use of business computer systems including Microsoft Office applications including Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good English communication
