The BIM Manager, in collaboration with the Project Engineering Manager, is responsible for quality and efficiency delivery of any GIS /

 

BIM / CAD Project deliverables and associated project data. He / She manages any project resources and advise the Project Engineering Manager on identified project risks and the opportunities, that potentially occurs along the project delivery lifecycle.

 

From contractual requirements analysis to the authoring of the BIM Execution Plan and any other BIM deliverables, he / she must manage, coordinate and interface, with the support of BIM Coordinators and an Information manager, various project stakeholders, contributors, partners, suppliers, and the company's internal resources to meet the project delivery goals.

 

The BIM Manager also contributes to Alstom’s BIM deployment activities, across the organization and its Engineering centers, to improve the overall organization maturity and capabilities. It consists, but not only, in animating workshop meetings, authoring documentation, supporting educational activities within the overall organization.

 

Finally, the BIM Manager as a large contributor to innovations has the responsibilities to identify, propose, deploy, and standardize some of them across the organization and its Engineering centers.

 

Key responsibilities

Technical missions:

  • He / She reads the contract requirements and defines the implementation plan for the project,
  • He / She builds the Digital vision and delivery strategy for the project,
  • He / She coordinates and mitigates identified risks and issues detected on the project, connected with third parts, stakeholders, contributors, partners, suppliers, and the company's internal resources,
  • He / She establishes and / or adapts proper procedures and methods for the project to secure quality and efficiency on projects,
  • He / She coordinates the set-up of the Collaborative Data Environment (CDE) with the solution administrator,
  • He / She ensures that the Contractors’ processes serve the Engineering and Business requirements for managing multi-discipline collaborative workflows and BIM uses,
  • He / She Ensures all information (received and sent) is compliant with the project requirements and that each model or file has been accepted,
  • He / She coordinates Delivery of CAD, GIS, and BIM deliverables on the project, connected with third parts, stakeholders, contributors, partners, suppliers, and the company's internal resources,
  • He / She supervises any BIM Uses and models federation tasks,
  • He / She ensures that all CAD, GIS, and BIM data is compatible, consistent, accurate and compliant with the project requirements,
  • He / She ensures that all object properties are correctly structured and are compliant with the project requirements,
  • He / She ensures that tools and processes are properly used, to comply with the project contractual Employer's requirements,
  • He / She coordinates IT solutions required to deliver the projects,
  • He / She determines training needs, and organizes trainings when required within the project,
  • He / She coordinates the agreed specifications and ensures compliance with those specifications and methods,
  • He / She Assesses and educates the supply chain using BIM according to the Project requirements.

 

Relevant experience required:

  • Industry knowledge in multiple project disciplines, as civil and railway mechanical design,
  • 3-5 years’ experience in design drafting or engineering,
  • 3-5 years’ experience in BIM/CAD delivery management,
  • A deep knowledge of BIM concepts, BIM delivery methods and BIM uses,
  • Thorough familiarity with all BIM contract requirements,
  • A good knowledge of the EDMS, GIS, BIM technologies (Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bentley ProjectWise, Synchro pro),
  • A good knowledge of MS-Office technologies,
  • Understanding of the Data flows, SOAP, REST protocols, capabilities of the cloud platforms, construction of server clusters, to organize the data flows between systems over the project,
  • Excellent organizational skills,
  • Excellent team management skills,
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills,
  • Fluent in English,
  • Computational skills in C# and / or Python are welcome.
