In order to strengthen and develop the support for D&IS business, IS&T has opened a position for a Virtualization Support engineer.

Virtualization support engineers will assist our business teams with troubleshooting issues and setting up online Cloud based services.

Main responsibilities are:

• Be the first point of contact for our business experiencing technical issues with our cloud-based products and services
• Diagnose and troubleshoot internal customer problems, escalating to senior staff when needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our products and services, as well as industry trends and developments
• Update our internal ticketing system with accurate and detailed information on each customer interaction
• Follow up with customers after resolving their issues to ensure satisfaction
• Proactively reach out to customers who may be experiencing difficulties using our products or services
• Assist with testing new products and features before release
• Provide detailed feedback to IT solutions architects on problems being experienced by users
• Write and maintain documentation on our products and services
• Provide feedback to senior staff on ways to improve customer support
• Maintain awareness of changes in technology and new and emerging software solutions.
• Train new support staff on our products and services

Required skills 

• Linux/Windows :  Strong understanding of the Linux and Windows operating systems
• Programming. Good general programming skills, along with knowledge of programming languages 
• Networking. Be able to understand virtual networks and general network management functions.
• DevOps. Good practice of  DevOps on VMware Cloud director services or Azure services will be a big plus
• Infrastructure as configuration : Good practice in infra as code scripts Terraform and Ansible
• Virtualization. Cloud engineers should have the knowledge to deploy and run application software on virtual machines.
