Could you be the full-time Region Transport Control Tower Manager in Bangalore, India, we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your logistics and transportation expertise in a dynamic and evolving environment. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and results-driven teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in managing transport and logistics operations across Alstom’s India sites, ensuring seamless movement of raw materials and finished goods while optimizing costs and efficiency. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Supply Chain, Projects, Indirect Sourcing, Warranty, and Procurement), oversee logistics service providers, and ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of transport and logistics planning, contracts management, and cost optimization, but also lead and develop a high-performing team to achieve logistics objectives.
We’ll look to you for:

Managing and implementing processes for transport and logistics cost optimization.

Overseeing logistics service providers, including transporters, freight forwarders, and customs handling agents.

Managing inbound and outbound logistics planning and operations for raw materials and finished goods.

Establishing and monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) with logistics service providers.
-
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with trade regulations, customs duties, and import/export processes.

Optimizing route planning, transport planning, and freight planning to achieve cost and time efficiencies.

Monitoring and analyzing transport and logistics budgets versus actual costs.

Supporting tendering teams with transport cost calculations, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

Ensuring compliance with SAP, EHS (Environment, Health & Safety), and quality standards.

Building and leading a motivated team to achieve logistics objectives.

Qualifying logistics service providers through technical and commercial evaluations.

Promoting a strong EHS culture within the team and ensuring adherence to organizational policies.

A graduate degree in Logistics, Transportation, or a related discipline.

15+ years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry, specifically in transportation, inbound/outbound logistics management, freight management, and logistics services sourcing and contracting.

Proficiency in transportation contracts and execution for mid to large-sized organizations operating across multiple sites in India and overseas.

Strong understanding of customs and port handling operations.

Experience in managing transport and logistics budgets and spend analysis.

Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

Language skills: Proficient in English and Hindi.

Strong leadership qualities with the ability to lead large, complex structures.

Change management capabilities to drive execution culture within the organization.

Problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency and adaptability to work in a matrix organization structure.
