About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Alstom has set up an Engineering Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru, and this coupled with a strong manufacturing base as well as localized supply chains, is uniquely positioned to serve customers across the globe. Transport Control Tower (TCT) Officer

Broader roles and responsibilities of TCT Officer:

  • Transport Control Tower (TCT), India metrics analysis and performance improvement planning
  • Digital and automation initiatives to improve efficiency
  • TCT cost analysis and savings initiatives
  • TCT Process optimization and resource planning
  • TCT Ops management for small, courier and express movements
  • LSPs performance management for higher deliverables
  • Sourcing & contracting coordination, alignment and management with the Commodity team
  • LSPs payments reconciliation

Being part of the Transport and Customs, you will contribute to the following aspects:

  • Manage the Logistic performance for ensuring efficient logistic flows at the Transport Control Tower (TCT), India, in compliance with the Alstom rules
  • Contribute to the definition of standards, processes and instructions and associated tools, with Alstom Regions involvement
  • Work directly with TCT and all stakeholders to support and improve the logistics activities, in alignment with the Global TCT and Customs Strategy, on:
  • Process: Set up & deploy processes / standards to bring more efficiency
  • People: Animate Logistics Managers, Logistic engineers, SAP key users’ networks and enhance their competencies
  • Methods & Tools: Develop improvement plan on process, tools and efficiency after As-Is Vs Proposed analysis.
  • Contribute to the key TCT transformation initiatives to support competitiveness & agility (included Digital transformation) within his perimeter.
  • Provide ops support to TCT on stabilization or mobilization of emerging sites in the Logistic, Transport and Customs activities
  • Ensure compliance to internal & external audits and EHS within his perimeter



  • Strategy
    • Bring information and return of experiences from Alstom sites in order to help the design of TCT and Customs strategy
  • Performance management & ops support
    • Monitor TCT consolidated performance & facilitate regional and site performance reviews for his operational KPIs.
    • Ops KPI:
      • TCT’s KPIs and Customs KPIs monitoring and chalking out improvement plan
    • Ensure compliance on process review, audits
  • Maturity roadmap deployment
    • Write and update handbooks, golden rules, tools procedures at sub process level and deployed with digital and trainings to ensure standard ways of working for all the TCT and Customs activities
    • Provide ops support to TCT on supply chain stabilization or mobilization of emerging sites, new businesses for the logistic activities




Educational Requirements


  • Initial Background: Business or Engineering school graduation with Logistics Supply Chain orientation
  • Languages: English fluent


  • Good background on ERP & associated Logistics & Supply Chain core model
  • Analytical and adept in Ms-Excel, PPT, Dashboard and MIS management



  • Knowledge of Logistics operations (min 7 years)
  • Logistic flow experience > 5 years covering:
    • Experience in Inbound, Outbound Logistics (Freight Forwarding, Shipping, Transport) & basic knowledge of Customs process
    • Experience in Sourcing & Contracting,



  • Logistics & Supply Chain experience strategic thinker & performance improvement driver
  • Able to drive transformation at international level
  • Cross cultural interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence at all levels
