EN-SR-10: Train Performance Manager (TPM)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Train Performance Manager

  • Ensures train performance fulfils customer and regulatory requirements, in compliance with project QCD objectives.
  • Functionally reports to the Chief of Development (CoD)
  • Is the main focal point to the customer for train performance topics
  • Is accountable of the source requirements synthesis (RBS), the train level performance requirements development through system architecture and of their allocation to sub-systems.
  • Supports System Engineers and Sub-Systems Engineers and ensures that Sub-Systems’ design is converging toward specified targets.
  • Is accountable for Train Reliability, for Train Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), for Cybersecurity, for Validation and Engineering contribution to Certification & Authorization.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

    • Compliance to requirements during validation
    • Specifications quality
    • On time delivery

 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

    • Acts as main technical focal point for the customer for train performance topics
    • Ensures conversion of customer and regulatory requirements into train level requirements & specifications (including Service requirements)
      • Collects and analyzes customer needs and requirements
      • Performs operation analysis
      • Develops a consistent set of train level requirements & specifications, complying with Alstom standards
      • Leads functional analysis, specification, and architecture in collaboration with Sub-systems Groups, esp. C&IS
    • Derives requirements & specifications at Sub-system level (including Services requirements)
      • Electrical & Functional interfaces (as complementary to Mechanical interface = Train Architecture)
      • Allocates requirements and specifications (including transverse requirements) to Sub-system
      • Ensure consistency and compatibility between all Sub-system specifications
      • Review and confirm Sub-system architecture and support Chief of Development for technical arbitration and technical risk mitigation plan
      • Supports Sub-system Engineers and Managers and verifies along project life cycle convergence toward requirements and specifications compliance
    • Ensures Reliability activities and report on the reliability risk management
    • Ensures Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities
    • In case of maintenance option, ensures that TCO is being optimized
    • Ensures Train verification and validation
      • Defines and performs all verification activities relevant for the project
      • Defines, organizes, and executes Train level validation, using Trainlab when relevant.
    • Contributes to certification and Authorization in delivering requested deliverables (test report, train level documentation, …) and support Certification & Authorization manager on technical topics
    • During train revenue service leads technical open issues resolution in line with project strategy, from investigation to modification implementation and problem closure,

Mandatory:

  • Master of engineering equivalent from educational degree, completed with experience preferred in Electrical & electronices

Preferred:

Extensive knowledge of products, projects, systems, Metier process and company background (More than 5 years in Railways engineering)
