Could you be the full-time Train Functional Design Expert in India we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your deep technical expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a key role in driving operational performance and engineering excellence, ensuring the delivery of innovative and sustainable solutions in the rail industry. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Train Electrical Engineers, Train Architects, RAMS, suppliers, and validation teams), lead design verification processes, and oversee critical safety aspects of projects, among other responsibilities.

You’ll specifically take care of deploying central improvement programs, such as ALM4A and APSYS, while fostering cross-functional collaboration and strengthening engineering practices, but also lead technical decisions and standardization efforts across DFQ cycles.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Leading IM30 missions to enhance TC Métier processes and operational performance.
  • Driving the implementation of central improvement programs and methodologies, including ALM4A and APSYS.
  • Supervising design verification and technical decisions across all DFQ cycles.
  • Providing leadership in SIL2 projects, including certification activities and safety audits.
  • Applying Design to Cost strategies to optimize technical solutions and reduce costs.
  • Fostering cross-functional collaboration between Train Control, Validation, and other teams to ensure seamless project execution.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience or understanding of rolling stock functional engineering and TCMS/TC IS train network architecture.
  • Knowledge of network topologies and interfaces, such as TRDP, Serial, Ethernet, and MVB.
  • Familiarity with DFQ processes, safety-critical management, and SIL2 lifecycle activities.
  • A strong understanding of EN/CENELEC standards and certification processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in design standardization and the reuse of reference solutions.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities, with fluency in English (reading, speaking, and writing).

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines.
  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling.
  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
  • Contribute to innovative projects that shape the future of mobility.
  • Utilise our inclusive and dynamic working environment.
  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries.
  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning.
  • Progress towards senior leadership or specialized technical roles.
  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension).

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
