Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in traction control engineering to a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative and innovative team of professionals.
You'll play a vital role in defining and developing the Software Functional Requirement Specification (SwFRS/FRS) for traction applicative software, based on the System Requirements Specification document (SyRS). Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including the Traction System Engineers, Project Management, RAMS team, and Traction Control Software Engineers, to design and fine-tune traction control software following the EN50128 standard and collaborate with external stakeholders such as car builders, rail operators, and suppliers.
You’ll specifically take care of application software development for traction control using FBD, ST, and state machine (IEC61131) coding techniques, but also contribute to system validation test planning and documentation for functional requirements.
We’ll look to you for:
- Collaborating with Traction System and Project Management teams to architect and develop technical specifications
- Designing and developing functional requirements as per EN50128 and internal standards
- Developing application software for traction control using advanced coding techniques
- Solving cross-disciplinary challenges related to power electronics, thermal management, algorithms, and performance improvements
- Mentoring team members in modelling and simulation within an MBD/MBSE flow
- Owning technical execution of projects and ensuring timely delivery in collaboration with project managers
- Performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for failures/issues observed during field trials or production
- Conceptualizing innovative ideas for new products and process improvements

- Knowledge of power converters, IGBT devices, traction systems, and asynchronous motors
- Familiarity with simulation tools and communication protocols such as CAN, TRDP, and MVB
- A certification in configuration management principles
- Basic understanding of mechanics, thermodynamics, and pneumatic systems
- Knowledge of measurement techniques and data acquisition
