EN-CT-02: Traction Control EDU Manager

Purpose of the Job

Under responsibility of the Control Command Manager and for one of the Traction Control, Software or Low Voltage system domains, manage a team of Engineers and Technicians of the Control-Command Service. He/She is in charge to design the control command of the Traction System (by digital or electronic means and relay circuits), for the Traction Control System Projects, to guarantee the QCD objectives of the Engineering Department and the Site EHS directives.

Missions

Performance Measurement/KPI’s

  • Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) indicators, for security of the persons, the properties and the environment, by applying the safety regulations of the company.
  • LV deliverables (requirement and dimensioning)  with a good quality level to guarantee a decrease of External DEMERIT (S2)
  • Specification and Software deliverables with a good quality level and simulator checking, to guarantee SSIL2 certification,
  • Optimized fixed costs for these development activities
  • Activities of design realized for the compatible deadlines with the Projects deliverables,
  • Indicators, transverse to the Projects, for the Control Command activity
  • Respect of the Design Review Control Command planning
  • Adequacy Workloads / Resources for the Control Command activity
  • Obtaining SSIL2 certificates following the contract schedules and the norms constraints

Responsibilities

  • Guarantee the Health, Environment and Safety (EHS) objectives:
    • Guarantees the respect for precautionary rules. Take all the necessary measures in case of risk,
    • Insure the training of the post for every newcomer
    • Realize Safety Visits scheduled on the site
  • To be the privileged interlocutor of PrEM and TSE for the Traction Control activity
  • With the Control Command manager manage, develop and train the Engineers and Technicians of the domain,
  • Responsible of the implementation of the DFQ rules (specifications, tools of design, Design Reviews, associated templates and action plan), daily, in the Traction Control activity on the Projects
  • Guarantee the application by the domain, of the rules and methodologies (according to EN50128) for Software development process, defined by the Control Command skill leaders,
  • Promote, in the Projects, the use of existing solutions, and the re-use, every time it is possible, of these developments already validated within the framework of previous Projects,
  • With the Control Command manager define the Control Command content, the tasks, and their planning for the project
  • Manage the Workload, the staffing and the resources of the domain and make the associated reporting following the methodology organized by the traction engineering direction,
  • Contribute to monthly the performance indicators of the Control Command process and follow up the actions and improvement plan,
  • Manage the subcontracting in term of:
    • definition of the specifications,
    • followed up of the contract (commercial and technical)
    • implementation of the corresponding operating means and the current legislation,
    • validation of subcontracted Control Command deliveries
  • Manage the performance of the domain: individual interview/objective definitions

 

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in the project management on the embedded electronics (hardware and software)
  • Advanced knowledge with Functions, Products and Components linked to the sector activity: Traction systems and their Control Command
  • Know the System organization around the Traction systems, and the interfaces
  • Sensitive to the Environment, Health and Safety questions.
  • Know the principles and the methods of software development and the associated tools
  • Know EN50128 or any other normative constraints (SSIL2 or more),
  • Know how to collect and use the information (Standards, works CCN, etc.), and know how to transmit it to the potential users
  • Control the Sub-contracting process and legal rules
  • Know how to organize and plan a workload
  • Know how to lead and imply staffs who work on a Project “plateau”
  • Know and know how to use Engineering tools like DFQ, PMS, etc. …

Team size:

  • Between 1 to 12 according to the organization and the projects requirements
