Could you be the full-time Traction Sub system manager in our region Traction Project Organisation we’re looking for Bangalore, KA.

Purpose of the role

  • To be responsible for management and successful completion of a component, fulfilling both customer needs and committed Quality Cost Delivery Performance (QCDP) objectives in a Low or No critical project but also in link to the complexity of the component to be delivered out of that Project.
  • Manage component level stakeholders, activities and deliverables and make needed arbitration (engineering, product x process, Make or Buy, Costs, Milestones, Interfaces, …) to reach QCDP commitment
  • Coordinate Traction component activities with sub-system stakeholders.

  • Reports directly to: - Traction SSM Group Manager
  • Other reporting to: “Dotted line reporting” within the Project - Sub-System Manager (SSM)

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

1/ Contribute to successful Project execution on allocated component scope of work: 

  • Apply Project Strategy according to defined contractual and Project commitments and targets, as allocated on component level.
  • Actively contributes to the overall Project performance, by timely alerting in case of deviations happening at component level, which impact the project and sub-system group objectives and also by actively contributing to the management of risks, savings and opportunities.

 Ensure compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards, process & tools, Code of Ethics & Compliance, Environment Health & Safety, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual and all functions involved in the component scope.

2/ Lead and coordinate component activities and stakeholders, from requirement capture/analysis to the end of project contractual obligations limited to the component scope of work:

  • Deliver the QCDP commitment of their component scope, (i.e. Work Breakdown Element/Task Code) in alignment to overall Project objectives.
  •  Cascade and allocate component requirements and QCDP objectives to component team members
  • Implement and execute the scope of work according to the respective Component Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), as defined at Project level at the beginning of the project
  • Plan, monitor, control and manage component end-to-end activities (scope, schedule, resources, cost, risks, saving, opportunities)
  • Coordinate and support consistent execution of component objectives, activities and deliverables (Engineering, Research & Development programs, Procurement, Supply Chain, Indus when applicable, Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety (RAMS…).
  • Lead teams in successful achievement of project objectives, synchronize stakeholders at component level and ensure stakeholder alignments
  • Take component level decisions and trade-offs
  •  Validate any change in the scope of their component following the CCM Process and in alignment with the sub-system group. Specific to a D&IS - Infra Component Manager, the major part of his/her time constitutes the coordination with Engineering (technical spec and BOQ deliveries), Sourcing (PO requirements), Supply Chain (mainly Logistics Plan). Additionally, the FAT process it at the heart of his/her responsibility (i.e. Contractual requirement capture, test plan, collection of evidence, validation of requirement compliance).

 

3/ Coordinate and synchronize component activities with other component and sub-system teams:

  • Actively contribute to the resolution of overarching/transverse optimizations or issues in the sub-system under the coordination of the SSM.
  • Manage interface with sub-system-level team members (e.g., industrialization, control of configuration management, , procurement, quality) and, request SSM, if necessary, arbitration, when required.
  • Specific to a D&IS - Infra Component Manager is the management of all the components of his/her sub-system and not only of a single component.

 

Performance measurements:

    • Delivery of component in accordance with QCD targets (QCD KPIs) and all contractual requirements
    • Manage component performance with Key Performance Indicators, report on their results with transparency and perform root cause analysis when required.
    • Component gate review on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering preferable Electrical engineering
  • Overall Full time industry experience of more than 12 years
  • 4 years of experience as manager of an operational scope
  • Desirable to have worked as Project Manager role for 3 to 4 years from a complete project life cycle
  • PMP or equivalent Project management certificate is added benefit
  • Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures
