Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your software engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and highly skilled teammates.

You'll contribute to shaping the future of mobility by designing, developing, and optimizing software solutions for Alstom’s advanced systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including hardware designers, RAMS, and V&V departments), support software integration, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of creating robust software architectures, performing detailed designs, and ensuring the reliability of software modules, but also contribute to deploying and automating CI/CD pipelines.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Contributing to the elaboration of software specifications and architecture in collaboration with the Lead and Software Architect.

  • Designing and developing software modules, including detailed architecture and design.

  • Setting up the software development toolchain.

  • Preparing and performing software module tests and verifications prior to formal testing by a dedicated V&V team.

  • Managing software work products under configuration management per the product configuration management plan.

  • Supporting software/software and hardware/software integration alongside hardware designers.

  • Ensuring the sustainability of software solutions.

  • Staying updated on technological advancements through continuous learning and tech watch.

  • Defining build and deployment designs for CI/CD pipelines and automating routine tasks.

  • Contributing to standardization by reusing or implementing reusable solutions.

  • Maintaining strong collaboration with software architects, hardware designers, RAMS, and V&V teams throughout the software lifecycle.

  • Applying processes and standards while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Managing requirements and ensuring traceability.

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • A degree in BE/B.Tech/M.Tech or equivalent.

  • 8 to 12 years of experience in software design and development using C#, .Net Core, and microservices architecture.

  • Proficiency in software design methodologies (V cycle, SysML, requirement management).

  • Expertise in C# .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, RESTful APIs, and performance optimization through async programming and caching.

  • Experience in API design and management, including RESTful principles, security (OAuth2, JWT, MTLS), and documentation (Swagger/OpenAPI).

  • Proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry/Jaeger.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab), secrets management (Vault or Azure Key Vault), and automation tools (Terraform).

  • Understanding of cloud-native design (preferably Azure), scalability, resilience, and cost optimization strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement reusable solutions, such as reference libraries and model-based developments.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide, influence, and collaborate in a matrix organization.

  • Team player with a customer-centric approach; experience working with European customers is a plus but not mandatory.
