Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your software development expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and innovative teammates.
You'll contribute to the development of web-based application software that powers critical systems in the rail industry. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business, including software architects, hardware designers, and validation & verification (V&V) teams, to ensure quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments are met. You’ll also support the integration of software with hardware systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll specifically take care of software module design and coding, as well as testing and verification, but also collaborate on the evolution of technologies and the reuse of standardized solutions.
We’ll look to you for:

Contributing to the elaboration of software specifications and architecture in collaboration with software architects

Performing detailed design, coding, and testing of software modules
-
Setting up and maintaining the software development toolchain
-
Preparing and performing module tests (“Designer” tests) prior to formal V&V team tests
-
Ensuring configuration management of software work products
-
Supporting software/hardware integration alongside hardware designers
-
Sustaining the software and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Applying processes and standards to ensure quality and compliance

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent)

8+ years of experience in web-based software design and development

Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET MVC, jQuery, and SQL Server

Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Vue.js or Node.js, and familiarity with Microsoft Azure
-
Experience with configuration management tools like Git
-
Knowledge of bug reporting tools such as Bugzilla or ClearQuest
-
Exposure to containerized environments for deployment and testing
-
Knowledge of the railway signalling domain is an added advantage

Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset

Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement reusable solutions
