Overall Purpose of The Role
As a Software Architect, you will technically lead a team of Sw. Designers, Specify and design the software architecture and deliver the software inline with the software development process.
You will interface with System, project, product, and Quality teams to meet QCD commitments.

Responsibilities
Part 1 of the mission:

  • Contribute to the elaboration of product/system specification & architecture, in collaboration with the Product architect/ System Engineering

Manager

  • Perform SW activities:
    • Define the software requirements specifications:
    • Define the functional requirements, operational requirements, interfaces requirements and the requirements linked to performance / Safety constraints
    • Ensure that all the requirements can be validated (testability, …)
    • Ensure the Cyber Security needs are meet for all the development
  • Define the software architecture:
    • Elaborate the functional and structural breakdown into SW components & modules
    • Allocate the requirements to the SW components /modules
    • Define the interfaces between the SW components / modules
    • Define the dynamical behavior of the software
    • Validate the feasibility of the solution: model simulation, mock-up
  • Define main technical choices for SW development:
    • Java, jsp, struts 1.3, spring 3.0 Design and Architecture
    • Select SW Tools, Methodology (ex : UML, …) & coding rules, strictly following internal process/methods & tools recommendations
    • Define SW Coding strategy (ex: encoding,)
  • Arbitrate and validate major SW design choices
  • Perform SW/SW and HW/SW integration, together with the HW architect
  • Prepare and perform SW requirements tests, SW/SW & SW/HW integration tests and verifications of his/her deliverables, prior to the ones formally performed by a dedicated V&V team (depending on Safety Integrity Level)
    • Sustain the SW development
    • Remain informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch
    • Contribute to TIS standardization by reusing existing solutions or by defining reusable solutions, including COTS (Commercial Off the Shelf) solutions
    • Apply and ensure application of organization processes and standards
    • Contribute to continuous improvement (REX: Return of Experience, process …)

 

Part 2 of the mission:

  • Create effort estimations for new WP deliveries
  • Define the technical management plans for software development (by customizing and completing internal templates if any):
    • Define the SW Development Plan
    • Define the SW Configuration Management Plan
    • Contribute to the definition of the SW Quality Plan, together with the System/Product Quality Manager
    • • Organize the software Design Reviews
    • • Organize and lead SW development activities so that to ensure QCD commitment, till the end of SW development:
    • Coordinate SW development activities (SW design - including activities performed by LLCC or subcontractors - )
    • Ensure the traceability of the software requirements through the development cycle
    • Participate to the product CCB (Change Control Board) for SW part (i.e. manage commitment and change to software requirements)
    • Alert the reporting structure for any event that could impact SW development QCD commitments 

 

Qualifications & Skills:
Education
Bachelor/Post Graduate in Engineering – IT, CS, ECE & EEE or Equivalent

 

Behavioral Competencies

  • Outstanding Technical leader with proven track record in managing multi software programs towards successful delivery.
  • Be Innovative and demonstrate to peers and implement in creation of Reference Libraries, reusable codes, and model-based
  • developments
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and able to guide, influence and convince others in a matrix organization.
  • Team Player and prior work experience with European customer is good to have not mandatory

 

Technical Competencies & Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in software development and design in object-oriented methodologies, design patterns
  • C#, WPF, MicroservicesJava, SCALA, Python
  • SOAP Web services, Spring, PostgreSQL, Scripting languages, SNMP ProtocolSpring, PostgreSQL, Scripting languages, SNMP Protocol
  • The ideal applicant will able to thrive in a highly collaborative workplace and will actively engage in the software development process
  • spread across different geographical locations.
  • Railway Signaling knowledge is highly desirable, alternatively similar industries can also be considered.

 

Software Technology Skills:

  • Programming languages : C#, WPF, MicroservicesJava, SCALA, Python
  • Good experience in front end technologies like Javascript, ajax, css.
  • Linux/Unix OS
  • Database: Any open-source or COTS DB on Windows platform (MySQL, SQLite, MS SQL Server/Oracle)
  • COTS Tools: Altova XMLSpy, ClearCase, ClearQuest, Eclipse, Synergy
  • Good experience in ORM framework, Hibernate preferred.
  • Should be able to write functional and System requirement.
  • Should be able to convert technical requirement to UML diagram such as class and sequence diagram.
  • Good knowledge in tools like eclipse or IntelliJ, any UML tools, any source control repository like SVN, git etc.
  • Good understanding of SDLC and software development methodologies.
  • Hands on experience in debugging skills.
  • Good to have performance tools like Jprofiler or Yourkit or any tool to measure and improve the performance.
  • Experience in code review and static code analyser tools
  • Experience in Kafka event stream, Docker & Kubernettes.
