PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Oversee Learning & competencies development by ensuring up to date harmonized métier structure, an efficient global competency development training curriculum and tracking for Project and Bid Management community. The role is key to enable our Project and Bid Management as well as Commercial community with the best knowledge of Commercial, Tender and Project Management processes and usage of applications and tools. All aspects of competency and capabilities need to be updated and continuously promoted to the community as curriculum is updated to cover the actual business demand of Alstom operating model. Competencies are to be developed as per agreed Learning & Development roadmap for the Bid, Project, Planning Management and commercial academy to ensure a global approach across Regions and Product Lines. This position acts as a team manager and expert to direct reports in team and manages in a project mode the various deliverables.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Main point of contact reporting to the Bid, Project, Planning Management & Commercial Academy/Certification director for all métier structure updates, competences development roadmap definition and follow-up. This includes all steps of training management: training definition, design, development, deployment and diagnosis to ensure high training performance.

 

Team leader managing a team on a day to day basis by being very hands on to guide and coach team members. Develop Consolidated yearly training roadmap and break it down into projects with proper follow-up and delivery. This entails understanding the objectives, deliverables and timelines of simultaneous projects across the various métiers and training management steps by liaising with the Métier Owners regularly as well as the Academy/Certification Director and Alstom University. Prioritization of team activities is key to ensure they are achievable/realistic to deliver and manage multiple projects at once.

 

Métier Structuring: In close collaboration with HR, maintain harmonized Project & Bid job code structure, job description catalogue and associated competency matrix to ensure coherence and alignment within the organization and deployment at operational levels

 Ensure yearly, HR-led métier structure update cycle is completed for all Métiers to ensure where possible simplification and harmonization within the community. Academy acts as a coordinator of the full process for the designated community. Kick-off including roadmap and governance are key for a smooth cycle that lasts approximately 6 Months.

 

Learning & Development (Bid, Project, Planning Management & Commercial Academy):

Ensure the community has the best knowledge of Tender and Project Management as well as commercial processes and efficient usage of applications/tools Continuously develop and update competency and capability needs learning and development strategy with associated roadmap to cover growing community and business demand of Alstom operating model

 Assess Métier Owner requirements to develop training strategy and propose/implement solutions for training creation and deployment based on best practices in collaboration with Alstom University

 Manage new content development for dedicated onboarding digital paths: learning creations from scratch as well as video testimonials

 Key point of contact with Alstom university to ensure Academy page is up to date with latest digital tools and features available and yearly training roadmap is in line with Alstom group guidance in terms of training hours and budget

 

Data Analytics:

Develop and track with data analytics team meaningful dashboards regarding training offer coverage of knowledge areas and competency levels as well as views/clicks of Academy page resources and training network. Understand key trends or areas to enhance based on modelized data

 Identify key data tracking required to manage both the Métier structure yearly update and the Learning & Development offer in the academy page

 Present key takeaways and propose corrective actions where required

 Based on data analytics, work on continuous improvement initiatives based on feedback from viewers

 

Animate community Network: Build a robust trainer community for the academies and a strong certification network supporting new training creations, improvement initiatives or training deployments by working closely with Training Network Animation manager

 Ensure trainer needs are well identified for project and bid training offer and build a strong training network across all regions and product lines to deploy academy trainings

 Coordinate special learning workshops/events with regions and product lines by understanding their needs and identifying potential training offer proposals

 Facilitate sessions involve certified community or other experts in training creations, focus groups, improvement initiatives etc.

 Define special learning/networking events for promotion of academy activities regarding competency development and certification programs 

 

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

 

Educational Requirements Mandatory:

 Business Master’s degree

 

Desirable:

 Bid/Project/Program Management or Engineering degree

 

Experience Mandatory:

 8 years minimum of competency development and training design, development and deployment experience

 Technical knowledge of digital tools used to design, create and follow-up trainings

 Ability to design content such as writing quiz questions, recommending best formats, durations, learner strategies

 Project/Program management experience

 Proven communication with international programs in a large corporate international company

 Strong experience in cross-cultural team/people managemen

 

Desirable:

 10 years of experience in Bid/Project/Program Management

 Training deployment experience
