Supplier Product Quality Development (SPQD) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) managers are different roles. At a site level, they can be endorsed by 2 different persons (one SPQD manager & one SQA manager) or can be cumulated by a single person (one Site SQ manager).

Specific activities of SPQD Manager (Supplier Product Quality Development Manager) & Site SQ Manager

  • Anticipate resource needs and organization at tender phase activity: consolidation of the workload for the site on a quarterly basis
  • Assure the Participation of the Supplier Product Quality Development team to the selection of the products eligible to the validation  construction under Project Quality responsibility.
  • Ensure that his team animates per project the pre-BA phase: quality specifications and SPQD plan validation with suppliers.
  • Ensure that his team properly manages the SQS phase till the Business Award in coordination with Sourcing and validates the relevant waivers.
  • Perform SPQD plan by setting-up relevant actions plan all along the product / process development to reach supplier  validation on time (First Article Inspection (FAI) go on time).
  • Control the application of the DFQ process and validate each milestone by his team.
  • Manage warranty issues linked to suppliers in collaboration with project warranty responsible.
  • Mange the supplier part industrialization from in to out of the part.
  • Manage to participate the FMR activity at site level to ensure no issues report.
  • Manage to participate the pre design freeze review along with Engineering and Industrilisation team of ALSTOM
  • Anticipate the interface requirement and if any CTQ dimensions are missed in supplier product drawing.
  • Knowledge of RFT (Right at First time) and Process capability study for supplier process and part.
  • Special process knowledge -Painting, Welding, Sealing, Riveting, Torque tightening , etc..
  • Cordination within the team and Stake holders – Engineering, Sourcing, Industrialization, Site QA team.

 

Specific activities of SQA Manager (Supplier Quality Assurance  Manager) & Site SQ Manager

  • Animate NCR treatment by setting-up relevant actions plan to reach Supplier NCR target.
  • Control the Non-conformity management by his team.
  • Insure reactivity of his team to inform supplier of NCR, to replace defective parts and to implement securization within supplier process.
  • Assure the Invoicing of the Cost Of Non-Quality (CONQ S1) to the suppliers.
  • Prepare and monitor supplier Quality review at unit level to shoot the Top issues.
