PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To control the collection, integrity and reporting of financial information & to deliver monthly, semester or ad hoc reporting(s) with the right level of quality and analysis.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure month end reporting is performed in line with the timetable and ensure adherence to all prevailing accounting standards, the ALSTOM RAM, the Internal control manual and ALSTOM Transport Financial Instructions.
• Ensure that the preparation of the budget and forecasts is accurate and completed on time, in line with the ALSTOM RAM and the ALSTOM Transport Financial Instructions also ensure involvement of budget owners at all level to secure ownership of the new financial targets.
• Build a business partnership by supporting all levels of management for financial matters and performance monitoring.
• Provide support to and interact with Project Controlling and Ledger Accounting to ensure good quality reporting and forecasting in accordance with the ALSTOM RAM and ALSTOM Transport Instructions.
• Continually support & improve the processes to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of Reporting and Budgetary control.
• Make proposals for Continuous improvement
• Know and understand businesses portfolio and the operation of every business function
• Liaise with other finance expert functions on need basis (e.g. Treasury and Financing, Internal Audit & Risk Management, Accounting and Finance efficiency, etc.).
• Support and cooperate with other expert functions (e.g. accounting, legal, platforms, etc.)
• Support implementation of the Finance rules in Project reviews

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory: 

• Bachelor Degree is required in Finance / Accounting (or a similar major) with relevant experience of 5 years

Desirable:

• Certified accountant (Chartered Accountant / CPA)

Experience:

Mandatory:

• At least 3-5 years experience of practical accounting at a senior level, demonstrating the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders & work to tight deadlines.  Experience of complete collation and analysis of financial data and communication of this information to management is essential

Desirable:

• Experience in SAP

Competencies & Skills:

• Bachelor Degree is required preferably in Finance / Accounting (or a similar major)
• Solid organizational skills and ability to prioritize
• Team worker
• Excellent knowledge in MS office (Excel, Powerpoint)
• Knowledge of BI tools desired
• Knowledge of Qlikview, Qliksense, ERP, Planisware
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
