Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your leadership and engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, forward-thinking, and results-driven team.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our engineering operations by managing and organizing the site’s engineering team to meet business and regional needs. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (site management, central engineering, region sales, platform teams, and local technical partners), drive co-engineering initiatives, oversee key technical decisions, and ensure engineering projects meet quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) commitments.
You’ll specifically take care of managing workforce planning and engineering activities for tenders, projects, sustaining, and R&D, but also lead improvement programs and promote innovation.
We’ll look to you for:

Managing and organizing the engineering department to align with business and regional needs

Executing engineering projects, sustaining activities, and R&D initiatives in line with QCD commitments

Driving co-engineering with process engineering and supplier co-development

Developing and mentoring on-site engineering staff, including succession planning and competence matrix deployment

Applying and improving common processes, methods, and tools, while capturing Return on Experience (RoE)

Supervising key technical decisions and addressing safety-critical issues

Managing the engineering cost center, budget preparation, and monitoring

Promoting and supporting innovation initiatives

Ensuring compliance with ethics, safety, and engineering standards

Monitoring and reporting on engineering performance metrics

Degree in Engineering or a related field

10+ years of experience in Rolling Stock and components

5+ years of experience in project management, including work package and risk management
-
Strong knowledge of engineering processes, tools, and methods

Proven track record in technical decision-making and value analysis methodologies

Experience in engineering strategy and vision definition
-
Proficiency in engineering planning and financial understanding
-
Strong leadership and people management skills
-
Experience with cooperation and change management
-
Fluency in English and the local site language
