Could you be the full-time Component Development Director in our dynamic India location we’re looking for?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your comprehensive engineering management expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative, strategic, and dedicated teammates.
You'll lead the Engineering Component Team to meet business and regional needs in line with Product Line guidelines. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including Metier Heads, Central Engineering, and Component Manufacturing sites), manage engineering projects, and contribute significantly to tenders and R&D activities.
You’ll specifically take care of developing a vision for new component development pillars, but also ensuring a strong engineering planning culture.
We’ll look to you for:

Executing engineering Component projects with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery commitments

Managing workforce planning to optimize team performance and development
-
Applying common processes, methods, and tools for continuous improvement

Supervising products, key technical decisions, and safety-critical issues
-
Driving improvement programs through co-engineering and co-development with suppliers

Monitoring project-to-cost programs

Degree in Engineering or a related field

Experience or understanding of rolling stock and/or components with over 15 years in the field

Knowledge of project management including work package, risk, and opportunity management with over 5 years of experience

Familiarity with engineering processes, tools, and methods

A strong grasp of technical decision-making including value analysis methodologies

Proven leadership and people management experience

Cooperation and change management capabilities

Fluency in English and the local site language
