Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in on-board electronic system design in an exciting and innovative field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.
You'll play a pivotal role in delivering a customer-approved system that aligns with project schedules, ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams across the business, including the Project Core Team, Rolling Stock engineering team, product development teams, supplier product quality development managers, and project sourcing leaders. You’ll also contribute to risk and savings reviews for your scope and ensure compliance with quality processes.
You’ll specifically take care of developing system architectures, defining and allocating requirements, evaluating design trade-offs, and balancing technical risks. You’ll also oversee interface assessments, verification, and validation activities, as well as project deployment tasks.
We’ll look to you for:

Providing design specifications and validation monitoring solutions until customer acceptance, while minimizing system deployment costs, lead time, and risks

Ensuring external interfaces are consistent with your system

Supervising and participating in system deliveries, including requirements management, architecture definition, and performance evaluation

Organizing and leading design reviews

Contributing to the definition and execution of the functional validation phase of the system (PC, Bench, TrainLab, Train)

Supporting the Project Engineering Manager (PrEM) to ensure transparency in Project Engineering Work Package QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) performance

Participating in risk and savings reviews within your scope

Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

At least 5 years of experience in on-board electronic system design, even in domains outside of railways

Minimum 2 years of experience in QCD or team management
-
Strong knowledge of Linux environments and embedded systems, with programming skills in C/C++ for onboard and HPA-related applications
-
Experience with HPA & NetBox ecosystems, including integration of onboard applications (e.g., OMS, APC, TWU) on NetBox-based platforms
-
Good understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN configuration) and hands-on exposure to routers, switches, CPUs/gateways, and onboard network hardware environments

Knowledge of firewall concepts and configuration, traffic flow control, and cyber/network rules based on ICD-defined data flows and ports

Familiarity with modern engineering practices and tools such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines

Experience in network and telecom solutions, as well as cybersecurity standards (desirable)
