About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Support the controlling and financial reporting of projects in accordance with set guidelines
  • Analyse the execution performance and propose action plans to improve contract margin and cash profile as well as corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
  • Support all ad-hoc analysis as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Obtain all financial and accounting data related to assigned contracts 
  • Check the accuracy of the data accounted for on the project (customer invoices, supplier’s invoices, timesheets, travel expenses...) and data reported
  • Analyse cost and sales movements monthly, compare with forecasts.
  • Present financial data in a transparent way.
  • Prepare estimate at completion  
  • Preparation and submission of milestone invoices
  • Follow up on receivables.
  • Ensure reconciliation  between approved project financial data and books
  • Submission of weekly project updates
  • Submission of milestone based sales and cash projections
  • Monitor & manage  Guarantees & Bonds relating to the project
  • Review and highlight indirect tax related impact on the projects
  • Report and monitor hedging requirements specific to projects
  • Update Project Management Tool for financial KPIs
  • Liaise with counterparty in respect of sales and cash for internal projects

Qualifications & Skills:

EDUCATION

 

Post graduate or above in Finance

Language: English (mandatory)

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

 

Mandatory

  • Exposure in similar roles in an EPC industry 
  • Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes
  • Project accounting in an ERP environment
  • Working knowledge of BW/BI and consolidation system
  • Knowledge of IFRS

 

Desirable

  • SAP-FICO end-user Knowledge of SAP/Project controlling tool

  • 5 years of project accounting in an EPC industry environment
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
