Your Future Role
As a Program Manager, you will take on a pivotal role in delivering complex, multi-disciplinary programs that shape the future of mobility.
In Bangalore, you will join the team responsible for developing a brand-new platform designed to host and run rail supervision services used in control centers (train tracking, regulation, traffic management, etc.). This new generic platform, currently under development, will be built around microservices architecture and data exchange based on the publish & subscribe model, using the latest software technologies. This is a pillar of Alstom's digital transformation, which aims to gradually migrate all its monolithic software solutions to this generic platform.
Key Responsibilities
Program Planning & Execution
- Monitoring and reporting of the complete execution of the project, in accordance with Alstom processes.
- Financial and budgetary monitoring
- Tracking of the schedule and program indicators, and finally, monitoring of the scope through roadmap updates and resolution of any anomalies. You will rely on an existing support function, including planning and finance teams.
- Ensure alignment with the product strategy defined by the existing technical management and the company's needs, by ensuring the implementation of the necessary actions to achieve this.
- Guarantee the high quality of execution through adherence to development processes defined within Alstom, in support of the quality teams.
- Provide strong program management and technical leadership, ensure end-to-end Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) performance while aligning with customer expectations, engineering standards, quality standards, change management processes and safety requirements.
- Develop program plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Lead program reviews and provide QCD performance updates.
Stakeholder & Team Leadership
- Act as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders.
- Enable collaboration across Engineering, R&D, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, and customer-facing teams, overseeing program governance, roadmap development, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement..
Risk & Issue Management
- Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Resolve critical issues including safety and cybersecurity challenges.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Establish KPIs and success metrics.
- Provide regular progress updates to leadership and customers.
- Conduct post-program reviews and apply lessons learned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (IT, CS, ECE, EEE, or equivalent).
- 15–17+ years of experience in product, project, or program management.
- Minimum 5 years in IT/engineering program management.
- Strong engineering background with full lifecycle deployment experience.
- Hands-on leadership experience across cross-functional teams.
- Experience with European customers is an advantage.
Technical & Tools Expertise
- Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
- Proficiency with MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Excel.
- PMP / PgMP / Agile certifications preferred.
