OPERATIONAL LEAD – RECORD TO REPORT (RTR)

Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. ORGANISATIONAL REPORTING

  • Region: Head GFC, India, Regional Finance Directors & Finance Controllers
  • HQ Central functions: Finance & Accounts team

 

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

 

This role will be handling Record to Report Operations for specific country/countries under the scope of the GFC. The position will be based out of Bangalore.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Operations:

  • Manage all aspects f Record To Report Operations of specific country/countries in the most efficient and cost effective way
  • Meet / Exceed the SLA and quality standards in the operations
  • Actively contribute in development, integration and transfer of the processes and teams from the different Regions to GFC
  • Actively contribute towards standardization of the Record To Report processes in the country/countries
  • Apply internal procedures & rules in line with the corporate & local statutory policies
  • Ensure the delivery f reliable and timely information to the units
  • Constantly Benchmark the operations with other country/countries within the Shared Services to improve performance
  • Identify levers and implement actins to enhance efficiency in all GL related operational areas of the region
  • Ability t understand group level accounting policies and apply them in the day to day operations
  • Manage and deliver group / statutory audit requirements for GFC to ensure timely closure at group level

 

People:

  • Actively contribute towards strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required

 

Qualifications & Skills

 

EDUCATION

 

  • CA with 5+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting

 

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English)
  • Leadership qualities & ability to accompany the change
  • Problem solving driven & appropriate urgency awareness skills
  • Team player
  • A result oriented individual able to handle the role with a strong ability to influence, guide and provide critical feedback

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

 

Mandatory

  • Process management skills, predominantly in Record To Report (mandatory)
  • SAP based ERP experience desirable and strong end-user Knowledge of SAP/related Finance tools (mandatory)
  • Past experience in involvement in Internal/External Audits (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of Indian GAAP

Desirable

  • Process management skills in other areas like Inter-company, AP (desirable)
  • Experience in integration projects from operating unit to FSSC or BPO (desirable)
  • Experience in automations, Yellow Belt, Green Belt projects (desirable)
  • Knowledge of IFRS

 

 

EXPERIENCE / SKILL SET

  • 5+ years of experience preferably in a General accounting environment in a Multinational Company with a minimum of 3 years as a Subject Matter Expert / Process lead of a General Ledger operation in a captive Finance shared service or BPO.
  • Language Skills: Proficient in English language
