EN-EI-11: Overhead Contact Systems Design Leader (OCS DL)

Purpose of the Job

  • Concerning projects/tenders :

-        The DL is in charge of performing the different (basic, detailed...) OCS (Flexible & Rigid Catenary) engineering activities of a project/tender,

-        The DL is responsible for the QCD (Quality, Cost, Delay) performance delivered for his project or for the commitments on Design costings and workloads produced during his tender,

-        The DL is in charge of the reporting of the Design performance and of providing the Return Of Experience of his project.

  • Concerning Central missions:

The DL performs some of the tasks linked to Central Department missions.

Position in the Organisation

Organisation Reporting

The position reports functionally and hierarchically to the “Overhead Contact Systems Engineering Team Leader (OCS ETL)”.

Network & Links

The OCS DL will liaise with:

  • Engineering: His project/tender Design team, the related regional/central Design team and other Infra/Sys Design teams,
  • Project: His project/tender management team, the customer of the project and his engineering,
  • Site: His project construction and T&C teams,
  • Support functions : Sourcing...
  • External interface: Suppliers, Subcontractors, Partners.

Missions

 

The OCS DL’s work will be evaluated according to:

  • The following points for the documentation produced by his project Design team:

-        On-time delivering: 100%,

-        Compliance to his Design Work Package commitment (variation orders excluded): 100%,

-        Respect of Design For Quality milestones: 100% Go On Time, in accordance with the standards or rules of his Metier,

-        Respect of performances of the system Designed: 100%.

  • The quality of his works performed in the frame of Central missions.

Responsibilities

Concerning projects/tenders :

  • The DL is responsible for defining the planning and the workload of the project Design team in coordination with the OCS (Flexible & Rigid Catenary) Engineering Team Leader (ETL), and for organizing his project team’s work,
  • The DL is responsible for the QCD (Quality, Cost, Delay) performance delivered for the Design of his project,
  • The DL is responsible for the commitment on Design costings and workloads produced during his tender,
  • The DL provides support and produces some Design (Basic, Detailed...) on the project/tender he is in charge of,
  • He is responsible for the validity of the Design produced by the Design team during his project/tender. Concerning Central missions:
  • The DL is responsible for the execution of some of the Central Department missions :

-        Execution of Design Authority,

-        Definition, development and maintenance of Reference Solutions and Reference Libraries,

-        Gathering and capitalizing the Return of Experience

-        Definition and development of Products

-        Innovation

-        Development and implementation of performant Design tools.

-        Support to projects and tenders.

Job Specifications

Knowledge & Experience :

  • Graduated from engineering school in mechanics/material science/electrical,
  • A minimum of five years of experience within OCS engineering department,
  • A minimum of one-two years of experience in team management,
  • A minimum of two-three project experiences in the OCS technology related to the project/tender.
  • Very good knowledge in the OCS technology to develop for his project/tender,
  • Ability to develop Basic and Detailed Designs.
  • Autonomy, motivated, initiative, good communication and interested in technical topics,
  • Fluent English,
  • Good drafting of written documents,
  • Mastering of 2D/3D CAD softwares and usual office softwares.

Team size :

Up to almost ten people.
