The purpose of this “Master Data Management Functional Expert” role is to build inhouse technical expertise on MDM business analysis and creating requirement specifications for MDM platform projects. This role will aim to maintain and support the MDM Platform

  • Position will be based in Bangalore. Willing to travel occasionally for onsite meetings and team workshops as required



 The candidate is expected to be an experienced Data/Business/ Functional professional with 8-10 years of strong track record in requirements gathering, performing gap analysis, data analysis and create documentation between 'As - is' and 'To-be' processes.

  • Will coordinate with business to understand business / data problems and suggest solutions using MDM platform
  • Will work closely with business and write requirement specifications and data governance / quality needs
  • Understand manufacturing domain business and suggest superior solutions to leverage MDM for business value addition
  • Hands-on-experience in MDM business requirements gathering and creation of functional specifications for projects.
  • Have excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills, inter-personal relationship and ability to influence business decisions
  • Liaison among the cross-functional teams, top management customers, users and any project stakeholder involved.
  • Dealing with procedures, governance, regulations, standards and instruments as part of MDM to reliably identify and maintain the organization's essential data.
  • Experience in designing business process models from conceptual to functional level i.e. project design and scope description.
  • Skilled at gathering requirements and creating requirement specifications by conducting one on one interviews, brainstorming sessions and Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions.
  • Extensively involved in MDM to help the organization with strategic decision making and process improvements. (Streamline data sharing among personnel and departments).
  • Demonstrated ability to document business processes and write detailed functional requirement document (FRD) or business requirement Specification (BRS), Software Requirement Specification (SRS) and Use Case Specification.
  • Contribute and suggest innovative ways to creating reusable assets and accelerators for MDM platforms. 
  • Must be proficient reading and understanding data models 
  • Must have significant experience working with data and databases. 
  • Must have experience working with Tibco EBX MDM platform
  • Must be comfortable with the concept of services (important for integrating with an ESB for operational MDM) 
  • Knowledge of Change & Incident Management process (CMRs, etc.). 
  • Exposure to DevOps Culture and Techniques
  • Experience with Master Data Management, Data Migration and Governance best practices
  • Extensive data quality and data migration experience including proficiency in data warehousing, data analysis and conversion planning for data migration activities
  • Extensive data lineage experience


Qualifications & Skills


Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering /Technology or related field

To be considered for this role, candidate needs to possess the following skills experience and attributes:

Must Have:

  • Overall 8-10 years Hands-on-experience creating functional specs for Maser Data Management projects and supporting MDM enterprise solutions, preferably in manufacturing domain and using Tibco EBX MDM platform
  • Overall 8 to 10 years of experience working as a Business Analyst in IT industry, working closely with software development teams
  • Good experience in integration of new business/ mergers to existing MDM platform
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in Manufacturing domain
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in implementation of Master data management projects in Manufacturing domain/industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an enterprise MDM functional subject matter expert in Manufacturing domain
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in building MDM solutions using Tibco EBX as the MDM platform
  • Extensively involved in MDM to help in strategic decision taking and process changes for the company. (Streamline the exchange of data between staff and departments)
  • Defined the source to target data mappings, business rules, business and data definitions.
  • Coordinated with the business users in providing appropriate, effective and efficient way to design the new reporting needs based on the user with the existing functionality.
  • Remain knowledgeable in all areas of business operations in order to identify MDM systems needs and requirements for enhancements.
  • Defined accountability procedures governing data access, processing, storage, retention, reporting and auditing measuring contract compliance
  • Gathered and documented MDM application, conversion and integration requirements.
  • Executed data migration, Data transformation and validation  
  • Evaluated data profiling, cleansing, integration and extraction 
  • Coordinate with the business users in providing appropriate, effective and efficient way to design the new reporting needs based on the user with the existing functionality.
  • Performed Requirement Gathering & Analysis by actively soliciting, analysing and negotiating customer requirements and prepared the requirements specification document for the application using MS Word.
  • Perform "AS IS" system study to understand the business process and design "TO BE" system structure
  • Identify GAP in various business processes. Conduct discussion sessions with various business owners and redefine business processes

Good to Have:

  • Experience in building Enterprise web applications in Java
  • Experience in working with ESB technologies like Dell Boomi
