About Alstom in India
Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. Purpose of the job:
- Supplier scouting and development for India and APAC region
- Strong involvement and implementation of commodities strategy
- Responsible for commodity QCDT and legal supplier performance management
- Operational sourcing responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/businesses bundling
- Responsible for New supplier homologation roadmap

Key Accountabilities
Supplier relationship:
- Supplier scouting and development for India and APAC Region
- Driving the roadmap defined with the Global Commodity Team
- Lead supplier QCDT performance reviews, Ensure global QCDT targets achievement, CONQ & claims management for the suppliers in charge
- Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.
Commodity support:
- Commodity representative to Projects, Tenders, Aftermarket activities
- Consolidation of commodity needs, inputs
- Active participation to commodity strategy and panel elaboration
- According to delegation, define a strategy for specific segment
- Build Sourcing Tender commitment
- In charge of Buyer activity on specific segment
- Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
- Apply the Alstom Transport Sourcing process and provide return on experience.
Operational involvement:
- In charge of Buyer activity on specific segment
- Effective teamwork with internal customers and stakeholders in problem solving
- Operational sourcing responsibility on negotiation, cross sites/PLs bundling
- Lead Saving Plan by leveraging Design to Cost, LCC, Volumes
Performance measurements:
- Savings P&L and Cost to Complete
- Non-Conformities Report and On Time Delivery
- Panel situation Supplier compliancy status rate
Educational Requirements
- BE or MBA
- Specialization in Purchasing & Supply Chain will be an added advantage
Experience
- Overall Experience between 7 to 10 years in Industry
- Minimum 3 years of Experience in Purchasing/ Supply Chain function
- Strong footing in Technical, Quality & Commercial topics
- Knowledge of Service Sourcing/ Aftermarket activities will be an added advantage
