About Alstom in India

Alstom has established a strong presence in India. Currently, the company is executing metro projects in several Indian cities including Chennai, Kochi and Lucknow where it is supplying Rolling Stock manufactured out its state of the art facility at SriCity in Andhra Pradesh. In the Mainline space, Alstom is executing Signaling & Power Supply Systems for the 343 Km. section on World Bank funded Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Phase 1 in the construction of the new electric locomotive factory for manufacturing and supply of 800 units of 12000HP locomotives is also complete at Madhepura, Bihar while the depot at Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh is ready to commence operation. During R & D Programs

His scope of work is :

  • At start of Program, work close with Prog Indus Mgr, to build the first Ref Lib. 
  • For central governance, monitor Prog Indus Mgr / RLIs belong to him

Support to Region/Platform  during Pre-Tender/Tender  phases

His scope of work is :

  • All tenders are based on clear Engineering breakdown with carry over and gap
  • Industrial feasibility study : PIO (Project Industrial Organization),  MoB (Make or Buy) , SMP (Standart Manufacturing Process), Costing (Non Recurring Cost & Recurring Cost), Site workload analysis
  • Define performance targets for the ISCP site department
  • Partner / Supplier Audit and any kind of Industrial capacity mission (on demand)
  • Localization Plan if required
  • Pre-tendering phase + Platform PIO and MoB Strategy : support to Platform VP for business case for PIO / MOB decision including Tranfer Of Technology and Capex impacts

Support Region during start-up of Project execution phase (on demand)

His scope of work is:

  • Industrial Cost Validation :  Non Recurring Cost & Recurring Cost for Site Quality Cost Delay commitment (SPR KPIs)
  • Sites support on ramp-up phase

The PLISM is accountable for the Industrial competitiveness

  • Based on the workload he can propose additional resources
  • Build robust Ref lib and Transfer of Technology costing file respecting standard
  • Challenge data and files in Mercury and local costing files. 

For S&OP and Strategy

  • Elaborate Make and buy strategy / region => localization plan/region
  • Validate capacity in MAKE and BUY with demonstrated data
  • Support Site 2020 plan
  • Update and regularly challenge standard PIO’s

REX (Return of Experience), his scope of work is :

  • Benchmark with other Product Lines / Platform
  • Best Practice / REX

With this overall view on Industrial scope, the PLISM shall take a role of Platform Ambassador and even Coach for Regions on the industrial strategy.

 

  • Promoting the Alstom Code of Ethics and adhering to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

  • C: Respect the budget + industrial improvement (ref Sol, product R&D) reached
  •  D : Industrial deliverables achieved as scheduled

Educational Requirements  

  • Master degree in Engineering / Industrial
  • English read, written, spoken

Experience

  • Manufacturing or Industrial background with minimum 10 years of experience preferably in the rail industry
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • Knowledge of CAD and PLM (Product Live Management) tools (SAP (GSI), Catia, Delmia, Neo, ..)
  • EHS standards and ergonomics knowledge
  • Financial structural costs and efficiency improvement awareness knowledge
  • Manufacturing process for Motors, Bogies, Traction knowledge
