our future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your financial and costing expertise in a cutting-edge, fast-paced field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven team of professionals.
You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial and commercial success of our project-based bids in the signalling and associated services domain. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, supply chain management, finance, tax, and legal), lead a team of bid costing professionals, and ensure alignment with organizational and customer requirements, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of developing and managing all financial and costing aspects of bids, but also ensure compliance with global cost governance frameworks and group costing tools.
We’ll look to you for:
-
Leading the bid costing team and associated activities across the full tender lifecycle, ensuring all financial inputs are consistent, validated, and aligned with business strategy and customer requirements.
-
Interpreting and integrating RFP conditions related to costing, financial terms, taxes, and commercial clauses into cost structures and bid documentation.
-
Consolidating cost estimates from multidisciplinary work packages, including PMO, system engineering, installation, testing & commissioning, logistics, and sourcing.
-
Assessing financial impacts of proposed technical or commercial solutions, identifying cost optimization opportunities and risk exposure.
-
Translating solution-level cost inputs into detailed price schedules and customer-compliant formats (e.g., unit rate sheets, BOQ-based inputs, and milestone payment breakdowns).
-
Simulating cash-flow and cost curves to evaluate project profitability, financing costs, and working capital efficiency.
-
Collaborating with Legal, Taxation, and Finance teams to validate contractual payment terms, taxes, and financial guarantees.
-
Preparing sensitivity analyses and scenario-based cost simulations for executive decision-making.
-
Ensuring bid compliance with global cost governance frameworks, group costing tools, and tender management procedures.
All about you
We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce/Finance, or Business; advanced qualification preferred (e.g., MBA, Chartered Accountant, or Cost Engineer).
-
Experience or understanding of bid costing, commercial tendering, or cost management for large project-based businesses in rail signalling, infrastructure, or industrial automation sectors.
-
Knowledge of signalling systems business models, project delivery frameworks, and solution-driven cost implications.
-
Familiarity with regional tax legislations, import/export duties, and public procurement frameworks.
-
A strong analytical mindset with a focus on scenario analysis, margin risk control, and financial quality.
-
Proficiency in cost engineering, tender pricing, risk management, and financial simulators.

Skilled in managing interdependencies across functional domains (engineering, supply chain management, finance, tax, and legal).
