PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Act as the function controller to manage the overall operational and financial performance aspects of the GFC function and provide operational and financial analysis and plans to support the finance leadership team in making decisions for the function

The role is part of the GFC organization.

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Key responsibilities :

 

Planning (Delivery plans, Budgeting, forecasting, estimations,)

  • Participate, understand and contribute towareds all planning processes for the function 
  • Support building budgets, forecasts and estimations as per group planning cycles
  • Analyse evolution of costs for each market, understand and present levers contributing to changes in costs
  • Obtain and track action plans to improve cost and efficiencies
  • Collaborate with other finance expert functions (HQ controlling, Tax, Treasury, Internal controls etc.)
  • Support function management in :
    • Building business cases and periodic updates to the business cases
    • Estimation of efficiencies and savings in co-ordination with continuous improvement and integration teams
    • Obtaining, consolidating, reconciling inputs towards build up of delivery plans.
  • Co-ordinate with all centers to monitor actions against financial plans
  • Ad-hoc support for several finance topics of the function

 

Reporting

  • Prepare periodic function level planning data, analysis and presentation packs for leadership reviews
  • Add key insights to financial and operational information and bring out the story behind the data
  • Track, and control all financial performance indicators related to the function across all geographies
  • Track, analyse, present  key operational performance data related to the function across all geographies
  • Manage targets versus actual performance of the function, divergences and corrective action plans
  • Support in continuous improvement and standardization of the performance management processes
  • Raise "Early Warnings" when necessary to increase management attention
  • Support in preparation of management review packs on financial and operating KPIs

 

 

Measurement / Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of financial targets of the function
  • Compliance with ALSTOM rules & processes
  • Timely and accurate monthly reporting

 

 MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Master’s in Finance / Business or equivalent

Desirable:

  • CA/MBA, Master’s in finance

Experience

Mandatory:

  • Atleast 3-4 years of experience in finance controlling in Multinational set up
  • Team working
  • Intermediate knowledge in MS Excel
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Experience in presenting to senior leadership teams
